Elektra: (sweatdrops) As you say Esmeraude. I'm so happy to finally have gotten an interview with you. Do you have any idea how many people adore you? Esmeraude: (smiles knowingly) But of course. Elektra: Even so, do you ever experience some self-doubt? Esmeraude: (chuckling) Nope. I'm absolutely stunning the way I am. Elektra: Incredible. I have friends who complain about their rears, their thighs, even their noses. So much so that they stoop to pick on other people. Esmeraude: (rolls her eyes) Your Earthen friends are silly. Who gives a damn what others think of you anyway? You will not be able to please everyone, so why not just live for yourself? Elektra: (raises her eyebrows) So you say that nobody's opinions count except their own? Esmeraude: (flutters her fan gracefully) But of course! People who actually listen to other's opinions concerning them are asking for trouble, since it's impossible to please everybody. Ungrateful wretches, all of them! |
