G.I.S PROTOCOL:
(The last protocol on the list is just as important as the first)
1. You must be 18 or older to attend any investigations. (We will not & cannot be responsible for minors).
2. You will not bring your young children to any investigation. (Children can be vulnerable & easily frightened. A ghost investigation is no place for children).
3. You will be respectful of private & public properties, even if abandoned. (No breaking in doors, windows, locks etc. to gain entry into buildings or rooms).
4. You will not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs when attending ANY event conducted by the Society. (party on your own time).
5. You will conduct yourself in a responsible & appropriate manner in all Society events, meetings & investigations.
6. You will not discuss any investigation location nor divulge any business or personal name with anyone outside the Society. We must respect peoples privacy. (Curious friends can unintentionally ruin a fantastic opportunity to haunted locations for us to be able to investigate).
7. You will not invite friends, aquaintances or family members to join in any investigation that attending Society members have not met or approved.
8. You will never charge a fee to conduct any investigation, nor will you accept any gift or money for personal gain of any kind for any service performed as a member of the Society.
9. You will be respectful of other members rights and judgement to conduct investigations without informing or inviting you. (Remember, some investigations present themselves at the spur of the moment. Others have to be limited in attendance due to the number of members or by request. It is not possible for all members to be at every investigation. Don't take it personal!).
10. You will dress in appropriate attire when conducting any investigations as a member of the Society. (Remember, the general public already has a misconception when it comes to ghosts! We do not want to add to this misunderstanding. Anything that can be mistaken as gang or cult attire to the police or public, especially if you are a younger member, please refrain from wearing).
11. You will be more concerned for the living than the dead. (Some people may be fearful by what they are experiencing. Your desire to conduct an investigation cannot come first when it comes to a living persons mental well being. If a person will not be better off having confirmation they co-exist with an entity, stop and think. We have to have compassion for those who are experiencing any ghostly phenomena).
12. You will be respectful of other members & visitors at meetings & events. ANY derogatory or sexual statements will not be tolerated.
Remember, how we act & conduct ourselves as a member of G.I.S. reflects on the whole Society. These protocols are a common sense guide & are only for the good of the Society & it's members.
