October 1, 1932-The keel of the Admiral Graf Spee is laid down in the Reichsmarinewerft in Wilhelmshaven.

June 30, 1934-Admiral Graf Spee is launched.

January 5, 1936-Admiral Graf Spee is commissioned.

January through May 1936-Admiral Graf Spee undergoes its trial runs.

June 1936-Admiral Graf Spee conducts various operations from the Atlantic Ocean.

August 20 through October 9, 1936-Admiral Graf Spee is involved in the first Spanish operation for the battleship.

December 13, 1936 through February 14, 1937-Admiral Graf Spee takes part a second Spanish operation.

March 2 through May 6, 1937-Admiral Graf Spee is involved in a third operation into Spanish waters.

May 15 through May 22, 1937-Admiral Graf Spee is present to participate in the International Fleet Parade at Spithead.

June 23 through August 7, 1937-Admiral Graf Spee is involved in a fourth Spain operation.

February 7 through February 18, 1938-Admiral Graf Spee takes part in a fifth operation near Spain.

June through July 1938-Admiral Graf Spee undergoes training operations around Norway.

October through November 1938-Admiral Graf Spee is ordered to engage in operations in the Atlantic Ocean.

April through May 1939-Admiral Graf Spee continues to operate in the Atlantic.

August 21, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee departs Wilhelmshaven and moves toward the South Atlantic.

September 11 through September 25-Admiral Graf Spee is stationed about 900 miles to the west of Bahia.

September 26, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee receives orders to engage and attempt to sink any sighted Allied merchant vessels.

September 30, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee sinks the Clement, a British steamer, near Pernabuco.

October 5, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee succeeds in sinking the Newton Beach.

October 7, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee sinks the Ashlea.

October 10, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee destroys the Huntsman.

October 22, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee succeeds in sinking the Trevanian.

November 1939-Admiral Graf Spee moves into the Indian Ocean, where it sinks a small British steamer named the Africa Shell.

December 1939-Admiral Graf Spee returns to the South Atlantic.

December 2, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee sinks the Doric Star.

December 3, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee destroys the Taiora.

December 6, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee meets its supply ship, the Altmarck, for the last time.

December 7, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee sinks the Steronshaln.

December 13, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee spots the British cruisers Exeter and Ajax, as well as the Norwegian cruiser Achilles and engages. The battleship scores hits on Exeter, badly damaging the ship. Admiral Graf Spee scores several hits on the other two cruisers as well, receiving several hits in retaliation, most of which failed to penetrate the ships armor.

December 14, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee arrives in Montevideo to make temporary repairs.

December 17, 1939-Admiral Graf Spee is ordered to leave Montevideo around 0615, pending reports that the Royal Navy was arriving in force nearby. Almost two hours later, the battleship is scuttled in the La Platte Estuary.
