Seydlitz

December 12, 1936-The keel of the cruiser Seydlitz is laid in the Deschimag A.G. shipyards in Bremen

January 19, 1939-Seydlitz is launched.

August 26, 1942-Conversion of the Seydlitz to an auxiliary aircraft carrier begins.

January 1943-The conversion of the Seydlitz is stopped, and the ship is ordered to be moved to Königsburg.

March 30, 1944-Seydlitz is towed to Kiel by the tugs Memmort, Rixhöft, Mövensteert, and the icebreaker Pollux.

April 2, 1944-Seydlitz arrives at Königsberg.

April 9, 1945-Seydlitz is damaged during an air attack by advancing Russian forces.

April 10, 1945-Seydlitz is scuttled to prevent use by the advancing Russians.

1946-Seydlitz is raised in preparations of being towed to Leningrad in March of the next year.

March 10, 1947-Seydlitz enters Soviet Naval listings to undergo repair.

April 9, 1947-Seydlitz is removed from Soviet listings, since the carrier is damaged beyond repair.
