July 11, 1914-The Nevada is launched.
March 11, 1914-The Nevada is commissioned.
May 26, 1916-The Nevada operates along the east coast and in the Caribbean with the Atlantic Fleet until the United States enters World War I.
August 13, 1918-The Nevada leaves to join the British Grand Fleet after training several gunners near Norfolk, Virginia.
August 23, 1918-The Nevada escorts President Woodrow Wilson after sweeping the North Sea.
December 14, 1918-The Nevada returns to the United States after President Wilson arrives safely at the Paris Peace Conference.
September 1922-The Nevada arrives in Rio De Janeiro for a celebration honoring the centennial of Brazilian independence.
July 1926-The Nevada leaves on a goodwill cruise from Australia to New Zealand.
August 1927-The Nevada undergoes modernization until January 1930, when the ship joins the Pacific Fleet.
December 7, 1941-The Nevada is one of the lead ships of the well-known "Battleship Row", and is also the only battleship to get underway during the Pearl Harbor attack, despite being struck by a torpedo and several bombs. In an effort to avoid blocking the channel if sunk, the Nevada is beached at Hospital Point.
February 12, 1942-The Nevada is refloated and repaired in Pearl Harbor.
May 11, 1942-The Nevada provided fire support for the invasion of Attu until May 18.
June 1942-The Nevada undergoes modernization in the Norfolk Naval Yards.
April 1944-The Nevada arrives to take part in the Normandy invasion preparation.
June 3, 1944-The Nevada leaves with the Western Naval Task Force.
June 6, 1944-The Nevada provides fire support for the landing force over the next 11 days.
June 25, 1944-The Nevada shells the Cherbourg Peninsula.
August 15, 1944 through September 25, 1944-The Nevada shells Southern France during the invasions.
February 16, 1945-The Nevada arrives near Iwo Jima to provide fire support after having its gun barrels relined in New York.
March 7, 1945-The Nevada leaves once Iwo Jima is secured.
March 24, 1945-The Nevada provides fire support during the operation, which lasted over a month, finally ending on June 30. However, the Nevada suffered some damage from a kamikaze hit on March 27 and a fire on April 5.
July 10, 1945-The Nevada joins the Third Fleet, and remains with it until August 7, 1945.
July 1946-The Nevada doesn’t sink in the Bikini Atomic Bomb tests, so it is towed back to Pearl Harbor to be examined.
August 29, 1946-The Nevada is decommissioned.
July 31, 1948-The Nevada is towed out to sea to be sunk by guns and aircraft-launched torpedoes.
