Poems

I can do all things through
Christ which streghteneth me.
Philippians 4: 13 (KJV)

It's Up to You!

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,
One life can make the difference,
You see, it's up to you!

This is a sweet sweet poem with the fragrance of the Lord all over it.
i cry evey time i read it.

Be joyful always;
pray continually;
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in
Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)

A Lesson

I prayed for healing
but pain still lingered on.
I prayed for sunshine
but He sent storms, not calm.

I prayed for sleep
upon my restless bed;
but in the dark
He taught me things instead.

I prayed for usefulness
or else - sweet Heaven's gate.
He whispered low, "They also serve
who only pray and wait."

By Alice Hansche Mortenson

Refine Me, Lord

Lord, refine me as silver
Try me as gold
Cause Your Holy Spirit
To burn within my soul
Empower me for service
Let me do Your will
I consider it a privilege
To serve the God, Who's real

Let my hands
Be Your hands
Let my feet
Be Your feet
Let me say
To the hungry
Here's something to eat

Show me one
Who's thirsty
Let me give
Him a drink
Let me help You
Heal a broken heart
Before to hell
It sinks

Lord, refine me as silver
Try me as gold
Cause Your Holy Spirit
To burn within my soul
Empower me for service
Let me do Your will
I consider it a privilege
To serve the God Who's real

I condiser it a privilege
To serve You, God
Let me show the world
You're Real

Peace, perfect peace,
in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus
whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace,
by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus
this is rest.
