In the Melbourne winter of 1998, me an' John found the best way of coping with the weather was to hang about in the United States of Amerika... well, at least one United State! From early June till late August, we chilled (I think that's the teknical term..) in Sunny Pennsylvania, learnt to say 'you'ns' and tried pieroggies and funnel cake and generally avoided the Melbourne Drizzle... We also had lots of fun and met many very nice people and travelled the length and breadth of Cambria County! Cool, huh?
We also visited Jamaica (where the bananas grow!!) and passed through JFK Airport in Noo York, Noo York four times (thats eight Noo Yorks!!!) and Pittsburgh and Miami International Airports twice. We saw lot's of airports! (Didn't mention Tullamarine (Melbourne), Kingsford Smith (Sydney), Narita (New Tokyo), Norman Manley (Kingston) or Montego Bay (Montego Bay) Airports, 'cos they don't belong on an Amerika page...)
This is a picture of me and John the day after 'Big Wednesday'. That involved waking at 8am Tokyo time, crossing a date-line and getting to bed later that same day at midnight in Western PA, after being awake for approx 37 continuous hours.... (apart from maybe twenty minutes over the North Pacific when John tried to take a nap, using ME as a pillow! How Rude! How Not Very Comfortable.. hehehe!). I was feeling fine (us apes are made of tuff stuff - and Fully Machine Washable, it says so on my label!), but poor ol' John (I have no sympathy really) was trying to blame all sorts of silly behavior on Jet Lag. Hmmmphtt! Our first sight of native Amerikan Fauna was when we got attacked by vicious balloon animals. We were lucky to survive...
Anyway, This is sort of an introductory page for a bunch of stuff we got up to in Amerika. Click here, here or here for more stuff! Or do so when John gets around to putting some links in.....
