Spirit, Soul, Self
I am a spiritual being living a human experience.
Separate from my role of Motherhood, friend, sister,
daughter and co-worker. I am a woman in search of self
journeying into my soul by way of His great Spirit.
Many times in my life I have had both women and men
ask me, how do you do it? Early on I would be taken aback
by this question. I didn't understand. How do I do what?
I'm a single Mom raising 4 beautiful children alone,(my
youngest being seriously ill.) Granted, I am doing this
without benefit of state aid or child support but millions
of women do the same. I recently made a life empowering
decision to leave an abusive marriage and finally break a
destructive cycle of abusive partners in my life.
Again, millions of women do the same...
"How do you do it?"
All I was doing was living life, playing the hand that had
been dealt to me. But the more soul searching I did, the
further I traveled on my personal journey I realized a definite
answer was being quietly revealed to me and that I was
indeed not just merely "playing the hand that had
been dealt to me".
So many of us live our lives "playing the hand" that has
supposedly been dealt to us without realizing that
many times the hands we play out are hands we have
dealt ourselves. Unless you were born with such wisdom
as to be compelled to pray to God and ask His
guidance for every decision in your life, chances are the
hand that you now play out is indeed a hand you have
dealt yourself. If you do possess such wisdom and have
prayed to God daily and asked His guidance in every
aspect of your life then God Bless You! Every twist and
turn your life has taken was touched by the hand of God
and you are truly blessed. Unfortunately, most of us
were not born with such wisdom and even after being
introduced to God and His son Jesus Christ. After
professing to have been "born again" unto His Great Spirit.
After reading the scriptures and coming to know these two
incredibly great men personally, still there are moments
in our lives when we insist on being the masters of our
own fate. Afterall, we reason, God did send us here with a
freedom of choice. Sadly, more often than not we make our
choices without the slightest consideration or pause in our
daily routines to stop for a moment and consult the God
who gave us this freedom. The God who created us. The God
who knew us even before He formed us in the womb
and ask - "What is Thy will Father?"
Granted, there are times when life will deal us an
unexpected hand of experiences completely and totally
out of our control. There will be opposition in all things and
it is at these precise moments that we must rejoice and Praise
our God and His son because it is during these times
of trial and tribulation that we can be assured the
companionship of God and Jesus Christ. Circumstances
may be out of our control but they are never out of God's
control. His will be done! God will not give
us more than we are able to bare! It has taken me many
years and rivers of tears to succomb to His will and there
are many times that I flounder still but now I don't
flounder alone God is very much near. He never leaves
us, we leave Him!
My answer today when someone asks me, "how do you
do it?" I simply tell them. I don't do anything, God does.
It has been said before time and time again and it truly
is worth repeating. If you are experiencing hardship, loss,
pain, if you feel alone and unloved-
Let Go and Let God. He will show you miracles!!!
"There will come a time when you believe everything
is finished. That will be the beginning...
