THE HORNED KING~ 1985, (The Black Cauldron). The Horned King has the most basic of motives; To rule the world. To do so, he needs the Cauldron Born, undead warriors created by the Black Cauldron. He has a little "goblin" sidekick, Creeper. P. Nebbelink, S. Gordon, & D Krohn worked on the Horned King.
RATIGAN~ 1986, (The Great Mouse Detective). Ratigan, voiced by Vincent Price, started the current trend of "villain songs". Two points of note; 1) He hates being called a rat, although a rat is exactly what he is, 2) He did not have a very good continuity person (watch the movie again and tell me how many fingers he has!). Animated by Glen Keane.
JUDGE DOOM~ 1988, (Who Framed Roger Rabbit). Judge Doom holds the distinction of being the only HALF live action, HALF animated villain in this list. He is the judge, jury, and executioner of criminal "Toons". His henchmen are "The Toon Patrol", a group of weasels who are probably the inbred relatives of the weasels who swindle Mr. Toad. Christopher Lloyd does a brilliant job playing Doom.
SYKES~ 1988, (Oliver & Company). Sykes probably holds the record for having died the most violent death (a head-on collision with a sub-way train). Otherwise, he is a lumbering bully loan-shark. His two dobermans are named Roscoe and DeSoto. Animated by Glen Keane.
FAGIN~ 1988, (Oliver & Company). Fagin isn't very menacing, just desperate. His desperation leads him to kidnapping a kitten! R. Aquino, K. Lima, S. Markowski, D. Stephan, and D. Cutler all contributed to Fagin.
URSULA~ 1989, (The Little Mermaid). Ruben Aquino had his
first big project animating Ursula voiced by Pat Carroll.
Ursula has her own page!
MERLOCK~ 1990, (Ducktales: The Movie- Treasure of the Lost Lamp). Merlock is a wizard, probably of dog origin. He is obsessed with owning the "Lamp of Collie Ba-ba". He is the most powerful wizard of the world of Duckville and is immortal with the ability to have infinate wishes! Even so, Huey, Duey, Lewie, and Webbigail succeed in defeating him! He has a cleptomaniac sidekick, Dijon.
PERCIVAL McLEACH~ 1990, (The Rescuers Down Under). McLeach simply enjoys being a poacher. He finds killing rare species a challenge, and it is profitable for him. His pet Joanna (a goanna lizard) provides the best laughs of the film. McLeach was animated by Duncan Majoribanks. Worth note is his vehicle a menacing all terrain trapping-robot-machine!
GASTON~ 1991, (Beauty and the Beast). Gaston is a handsome, but terribly vain "hero" of the village. He sings his own praises, with the entire town's support. His need to marry Belle (to save face) leads him to murder. His sidekick, Le Fou, is his greatest admirer. Animated by Andreas Deja.
