Still traumatized from his childhood experiences with Jason, Tommy (now grown) is sent to a rustic mental hospital for treatment. Following an incident where a hospital patient is brutally murdered by another inmate, a killer shows up in a hockey mask and begins hacking everyone in sight.
Director Danny Steinmann, who also co-wrote the script, tried to add some mystery by not revealing the identity of the killer until the end of the film. Steinmann gives so many blatant hints, however, that the mystery is over before it even begins.
Tommy's second experience with a "Jason" figure causes him to snap completely and in the end, he finally dons the hockey mask- hence the real meaning behind the film's title.
