In tne first half of January members of IIOA voted for Othello Player of the Year and Best New Player. Benjamin Shifman (Karmy) won the '97 Best New Player award and Alexander Vikulin (shura) won the '97 Othello Player of the Year. Congratulation!
Results from the first round of the British Grand Prix in Wellingborough were as follows: 1. Garry Edmead 6(7), 2. Imre Leader 6, 3. Mark Atkinson, Guy Plowman, Ian Turner 4, 6. Iain Forsyth, Roy Arnold 2, 8. Adelaide Carpenter 0.
The Othello Association of Singapore was formed! David Tan is the first president.
Geoff Hubbard (Australia), Steve Swolley (USA) and Eddie Williams (USA) have been elected to the IIOA council. Good luck, fellows!
The second Swedish Grand Prix tournament was held in Lund on the 21st of March. Marius Juodele (Lithuania) won! In next issue read his article about this tournament.
