Contained herein are the original poems submitted by a truly talented young lady. I am proud to give her her own archive.
Untitled
chocolate covered carnival,
I mean cherry,
no, no,
we'll stick with carnival,
but let's change chocolate to caramel,
alright,
caramel covered carnival.
see the world from the top of a
ferris wheel.
oh, you're stuck?
don't worry, it's all a part of the ride--
death, that is.
unbuckle your seatbelt when you feel
your seat tipping upside down.
too bad you didn't have wings,
it would make the fall a little
easier to handle.
did you expect to live forever?
you needed to pay extra if you
wanted to survive the ride.
sorry, no refunds.
maybe you'll come back as a bird,
or a mosquito,
something with wings, yeah, that sounds about right.

Caught this young lady in the act during Phantom Stranger's performance at Poor Richard's. I do believe she caught the essense of the stage-presence of the singer quite accurately. By the way, if you like true-to-type heavy metal, check Phantom Stranger out.
"Anti-Man"
a black monolith stands,
hands outstretched,
shiny comedic exo-skeleton falls to the ground,
anti-human.
a lion's mane hides a soul
vibrant and primed,
much to overwhelming to try and catch
more than a glimpse.
the tongue of a serpent,
hands transformed,
the claws of a hawk.
eyes that have lived,
seen life,
survived.
a full moon hides herself inside your
stomach,
her light transformed to sound every time
you open your mouth to roar.
here stands our monolith.
