Good evening, patron of the arts.
We have your table ready for you, and I will be back shortly to take your order.
You've come to a very special place.
Here all poets of the world can leave their musings for the public.
You do not have to be rich, famous, good-looking, or published to participate,
or to even kick back with a cup of joe and listen.
These are the wanderings of many a mind caught on paper, all for you.
Relax, enjoy, and let your imagination soar.

Also feel free to leave any comments about the poems (either original or old classics) in the forum. *s* Cheers!

"Bright Eyes"—Song from Watership Down

Is it a kind of dream
Floating out on the tide
Following the river of death down-stream
Oh is it a dream

There's a fog along the horizon
A strange glow in the sky
And nobody seems to know where you go
And what does it mean or is it a dream

[1]:
Bright eyes burning like fire
Bright eyes how can you close and fail
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale--bright eyes

Is it a kind of shadow
Reaching into the night
Wandering over the hills unseen
Or is it a dream

There's a high wind in the frees
A cold sound in the air
And nobody ever knows where you go
And where do you start
Oh, oh into the dark

~~Sung by Art Garfunkel

"Completely Fantastic"

I know a man named Bob
who complains that his father
plays rock and roll on the stereo
loud, so loud that Bob
can't study at home during the day.
Funny, Bob always smiles about it.

His father, eighty-two years old,
plays rock and roll. I wonder
what music he plays.
Does he waltz to Barry Manilow,
or mosh to Suicidal Tendencies?
What does an eighty-two year old
rock and roller listen to?

"White Rabbit"?
"Painted Black"?
Does he chuckle to "Truckin",
"Life in the Fast Lane"?
Does he reflect on "Time"?
Maybe he bops, listening
to "Rock Around the Clock",
the "Monster Mash". Maybe
he digs U2 and The Clash.
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" could be
spinning on his turntable now.
His hair could be flailing.
His head could be banging.
Slayer could be playing
at a volume near ten.

Funny, Bob always smiles about it.
When I see that smile, I picture
his father, an eighty-two year old man,
hand held high, lighter ablaze,
screaming the chorus "Rock of Ages".

This is completely fantastic:
Bob's father still rolling.

I am VERY proud to introduce to the web a talented young poet who has an amazing clarity and adeptness at this medium. Alexis...I wasn't kidding. Never lose this and never waste it. You are truly remarkable!

chocolate covered carnival,
I mean cherry,
no, no,
we'll stick with carnival,
but let's change chocolate to caramel,
alright,
caramel covered carnival.
see the world from the top of a
ferris wheel.
oh, you're stuck?
don't worry, it's all a part of the ride--
death, that is.
unbuckle your seatbelt when you feel
your seat tipping upside down.
too bad you didn't have wings,
it would make the fall a little
easier to handle.
did you expect to live forever?
you needed to pay extra if you
wanted to survive the ride.
sorry, no refunds.
maybe you'll come back as a bird,
or a mosquito,
something with wings, yeah, that sounds about right.

Caught this young lady in the act during Phantom Stranger's performance at Poor Richard's. I do believe she caught the essense of the stage-presence of the singer quite accurately.
By the way, if you like true-to-type heavy metal, check Phantom Stranger out.

"Anti-Man"

a black monolith stands,
hands outstretched,
shiny comedic exo-skeleton falls to the ground,
anti-human.
a lion's mane hides a soul
vibrant and primed,
much to overwhelming to try and catch
more than a glimpse.
the tongue of a serpent,
hands transformed,
the claws of a hawk.
eyes that have lived,
seen life,
survived.
a full moon hides herself inside your
stomach,
her light transformed to sound every time
you open your mouth to roar.
here stands our monolith.

Once again, your submissions or requests will be posted.
Keep it relatively clean...nothing hard-core (no pun intended).
I will attempt to maintain an archive of past submissions
so make sure you visit them as well.
Hope to hear from you!

How to Submit a Poem

To submit a poem of your own (or that of your favorite poet),
just email me with the poem and I will review it.
If it is suitable (see my only rule above), I will place it on this page.
You may also include your homepage URL if you want
your poem linked to your site. It's easy, isn't it? *s*

Of course, you may submit as many poems as you like,
so come often and have your work become part of a permanent archive.
