Place:Tokyo-3, near the southern tip of Japan. Tokyo-2 is found in the north while the original Tokyo (Tokyo-1) was destroyed during second impact.
Some important buildings: Nerv Headquarters: Building where the Nerv and evangelion specialists work. It is in a place called the Geo-front, a hollowed out cave underneath teh foundation of Tokyo-3. Tokyo-3 itself is a fortress prepared for battle. Some of the buildings themselves go underground when angels attack for safety. While others stay above ground to suupply weapons, and fuel to the evas.
The school: The school where the children who are eligible to pilot evas go. Not much happens here but it is a common scene.
Misato's apartment: This is another place like the Nerv headquaters where most of the series takes place. In the beginning the only person who lives here is Misato and her pet penguin Penpen. In the first episode Misato offers to take Shinji into her house instead of living in the dorms. In the 4th tape Asuka comes to Japan and moves in to the apartment.
Time: 2015 AD
In 2000 AD second impact occurred. Second impact was when supposively a meteorite hit the Antarctican continent and melted part over the ice cap. The water washed over a lot of land and this made the world population drop. This was in reality done by an angel. Hence the reason the human completion project (eva) was created.
