If you hit a "miss" it will counterattack with a flame move. There is no way to tell which one the "hit" is so just try around. When he dies continue forward and get the moonstone. Take the moonstone to 65,000,000BC and enter the Sun Keep in the North West corner of the map. Leave the moonstone there and go back to the epoch. Go to 1000AD and go to the house that is sparkling on the West continent. Enter the house and talk to everyone. Leave and go to the "Snail Shop" buy some jerky for 9900G. Go back to 600AD and go to the house that sparkles in 1000AD. Offer the woman some jerky and give it to her for free. Go back to 1000AD and get the moonstone from the man and take it back to the sun palace. Go with Lucca in your party to 2300AD and go to the sun keep. Take the sun stone. Lucca will make the Wonder Shot for herself. If you do this before you get the Rainbow Shell you can also get the Rainbow which is the best weapon for Crono.
