Illinois 5 is a short east-west route running in the Quad Cities area. Before I-88 was designated as an interstate, it carried the number "Illinois 5." Now, only the section of former IL5 that isn't part of I-88 remains IL5.
Intersections from west to east:
IL5 begins in Rock Island at US67, near Milan.
IL5 crosses IL84 as IL92 joins IL5 from the west, near Carbon Cliff
IL5 ends becoming I-88 as it crosses I-80 (IL92 continues eastward, following I-88).
It passes through these towns: Moline, Rock Island, Silvis.
