In Illinois, Federal Route 34 runs generally on a ENE-WSW angle out of Chicago to cross the Mississippi at Burlington, Iowa. It connects a great number of significant Illinois towns together, such as Princeton and Galesburg. US34 runs from west-central Illinois to end at the inner Chicago area.
