With beauty like this, who needs to win? That's what we think. She may not be as successful
as the great Martina Hingis, but she does her best, that's for sure. What is important is that
we still love her here at the Obsessive Anna Kournikova Fan Club. Winning or losing is not
important, just as long as you keep entertaining the obsessed, we'll all be fine. Of course,
the more wins the better, but it's not a qualification for admittance.
So without further ado, we would like to present the accomplishments of Anna Kournikova.
We can see how they may pale in comparison to Martina's, but that's what a fan club is for,
right? We offer our support no matter what the results.
She has two championships to date:
- Won the ITF/Midland-Michigan, USA.
- Won the ITF/Rockford-Illinois, USA.
How she has fared in Grand Slams and Major Tournaments:
- 1996 US Open:
Lost in fourth round to eventual champion Steffi Graf.
- 1997 German Open:
Lost in fourth round to Fernandez.
- 1997 French Open:
Lost in third round to eventual champion Martina Hingis.
- 1997 Wimbledon:
Lost in semi-finals to eventual champion Martina Hingis.
Despite the fact that Anna Kournikova has a short list of tournament wins in her short
stint as a pro, we continue to watch her ever so closely. Just take a look at the photo on
the left, why wouldn't we watch? For someone to wear such a sharp combination of colors and
prance around on the court like there's no tomorrow, we struggle to take out eyes off her.
In this picture, Anna is looking up to the sky because at that moment there was a plane
overhead that was touting a banner which read, "Congrats Anna! You have officially
been made the centerpiece for the Obsessive Anna Kournikova Fan Club!" She was happy.
