"A Not so Crystal Clear Destiny"
What if Sailor Moon had been kidnapped and brain washed by the Negaverse instead of Tuxedo Mask? What would Darien have done? Who would take over as the leader of the Sailor Scouts? How would Serena's family and other friends react to her disappearance? These are just a few of the questions that I intend to answer in this story of what if.

Darien began to regain consciousness as the power of the Silver Crystal washed over him and Serena.
"Mmmm..." came the sound from his throat as he began to stir and sit up. He sat bent over resting his forehead in his right hand. "Wh...what happened? Serena?" His eyes fell upon her as she laid beside him, unmoving.
"Stay calm, Darien, she will be alright," Mercury said gently, looking at him through her sad blue eyes. "You've been out of it for a while and you're just awakening. Serena, on the other hand, will take longer to heal due to her trauma."
"Where are ther others," he asked as he slowly rose to his feet.
"Sadly they were killed in battle by Malachite. We are the only ones left now."
"And your outfit...it's changed. You have a jeweled crown on your head and a more regal gown.
She looked at him confused for a moment, she hadn't noticed that she had changed. "That I can explain," she said after realizing what happened. "After Malachite fired at Venus I went to help her and she gave me the Silver Crystal before she died. Then, in turn, Mars and Jupiter fought and lost their lives as well. When Malachite fired upon me I used the Crystal to stop him. It must have changed me to how you see me. That is generally what has happened since you've been unconscious."
Darien knelt down beside Serena and took one of her hands into both of his; waiting for her to awaken and determined to be the first person she saw when she woke. Darien's silent prayers over her were interrupted by a very unpleasant voice.
"Oh what a touching scene! What's the matter, Prince, won't your sleeping princess wake up?"
Darien turned his head toward the sound of the voice. "Beryl..." he growled.
"I honestly don't see what you see in that girl when you could have a woman ," Beryl implied herself.
"She's sweet, innocent, and beautiful. Much unlike the vidictive monster you are! You're filled with nothing but bitterness and uglimess," Darien said, his voice filled with spite.
"No one speaks to Queen Beryl that way!" she screamed.
"You want to bet, Beryl?" Mercury stepped in. "I happen to agree with him, although he was being way too nice."
"I'll deal with you first, Mercury. Darien may still hold some usefulness."
"Bring it on witch! I'm not afraid of you."
You should be!" Beryl shrieked as she began her assault with a powerful blast.
