"A Not so Crystal Clear Destiny"
What if Sailor Moon had been kidnapped and brain washed by the Negaverse instead of Tuxedo Mask? What would Darien have done? Who would take over as the leader of the Sailor Scouts? How would Serena's family and other friends react to her disappearance? These are just a few of the questions that I intend to answer in this story of what if.

A dark figure appeared in the shadows, laughing evilly.
"Leave us in peace or be destroyed like everyone else," Mercury said; regret and authority showing in her voice.
"I'm having this weird since of déja vu," the figure chuckled.
Mercury looked with confusion back at Serena and Darien, then back to the figure. She then walked to the royal couple and whispered, "Head swiftly for the back entranceway. Then take a right at the first corridor followed by a left, a right, and two more lefts. From there head straight out, I'll hold off our mystery guest."
"But Mercury…" Serena started to protest. Darien squeezed Serena's shoulder after noticing the seriousness in Mercury's eyes.
"Serena, listen to her… she can't do anything if she's worrying about us."
Serena looked back at Mercury, her eyes full of concern, "You sure that you'll be okay?"
Mercury smiled at her and nodded, "I'll be just fine. Now you two get out of here and to the hospital. I'll call you in the morning to see how everything is."
"Okay Ami, please be careful."
I will. Now you two get going."
Aided by Serena, Darien led the way out. Once they were out of earshot the figure spoke.
"You really think that I'll let them escape?"
"You won't have much choice in the matter if you're too busy with me, Malachite."
"Ah, so you know who I am," he stepped into the light. His once white hair was now as red as Queen Beryl's; his build more defined. He stared Mercury down with hard, cold, grey eyes.
"You've changed, Malachite, and judging by your hair you should have taken my advice to bleach your roots. The red is so unbecoming."
"Why thank you, little-miss fashion expert, but I didn't come here for makeover tips. I came here to destroy you and take back my wife," Malachite growled.
"You've been highly unsuccessful thus far… What makes you so confident now?"
He chuckled for a moment before answering, "I am now confident because I hold not only my power but those of Queen Beryl! My power has been increased a hundred-fold!" Malachite laughed sadistically.
"You're bluffing. I beat you back once and in the name of Mercury, I'll do it again!" Mercury took a defensive stance. "Let's just get this over with."
"I couldn't agree more…" Malachite's grey eyes turned ice blue and began to glow. He outstretched his hand; energy already emanating from it.
"Maybe he wasn't bluffing," Mercury thought to herself, "I just hope that Serena and Darien make it out ok." She threw her arms down to her side, closed her eyes, and then yelled out, "Mercury Ice Barrier" as she out-stretched her arms. Slowly an ice wall formed in front of her, standing tall and thick.
"Ahhhhgggghhhhhh…" Malachite cried out as he released his energy. The blast crashed through Mercury's barrier, driving into her, sending her flying across the room.
Malachite's eyes went back to normal as he looked at the still figure on the floor that was Mercury. He walked over to and looked down at her. "I told you and you refused to listen. It's over Mercury, say good bye," he held his hand toward her.
"Y…you w…will n…never win." Mercury gasped and coughed before she passed out.
Malachite then vaporized her. "You had so much faith, but in the end it wasn't enough…

M…Mercury….she's gone……NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! :( What's gonna happen now? Where are Serena and Darien? What's Malachite gonna do now? Stay tuned for this dramatic conclusion next time….
KONICHIWA MINA-SAN!!! ^_^ Gomen about me being lazy lately, but college has started…. Oh what fun! But so far so good, I didn't get lost on campus ^_~ * LOL* ^^ I'll work as fast and as often as I can on the last part, but I'm not promising this soon…especially with my writing class… ^^;; But I shall do my best to not leave you guys hanging forever ^^ Love ya'll ^_^ Ja ne!!!
