Canine Portraiture by: Linda Draper Painting of a Shi Tzu and Puppy Linda has now completed the seven Group Series oil paintings on panel (28" x 60") for her Group Award Art project. (Below is print order info) She donated exclusive rights to the Virginia Beach Kennel to use these images as their Group Awards for their fall show. These Groups include the Working, Hound, Toy, Sporting, Herding & Terrier; and the Non-Sporting. They are oil on wood panels, as most of Linda's work. Every nuance of each breed (and each individual portrait) is captured in her dedicated, photorealistic style. It took her nearly 600 hours per Group painting and painting about 350 dogs from start to finish. Linda graduated from the prestigious school, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, 1985. She began her career in New York City as a freelance Commercial Artist for such clients as Radio City Music Hall, Harper & Row, Collins and RCA Records. She was then commissioned by NASA to create four paintings and a number of drawings for their museums through 1992. One of those paintings hung in the National Museum For Women in the Arts, Wash. DC, 1998. It is now traveling on board Artrain for a four year tour; Other Artists aboard include Andy Worhol, Norman Rockwell, Jamie Wyeth, Robert Rauschenberg & Peter Max to name a few. Linda began showing Rottweilers in 1994, & breeding 1997. She has Breeder/Owner/Handled her Rottweilers to Best In Specialty show, Top 10 Breed and All-Breed in the USA and top 5 in Canada as well. Linda Draper's "Group Dog Show Series" signed, limited edition Iris Giclče prints are now available (ordering info below). These prints will become highly collectable due to their quality printing on 100% Rag Arches watercolor paper and extreme, limited edition of only 400 each. Prints are all 15.5” x 29”.
