Yesterday's Rose
The petals fall like autumn leaves
Yet the essence lingers on
And life is like the wilting rose
Too soon the bloom is gone
So gaze upon the velvet blossom
Reach out and gently touch a thorn
Then treasure all your memories
Even those your heart does mourn
Like the rose we fade and wither
As life slowly slips away
Still our essence lingers on and on
To remind loved ones of yesterday
