(Atlanta, GA) -- AbsAthletic, Inc. announced today that it has signed former Dallas Cowboy Special Teams Captain, Bill Bates to an endorsement deal. Under the terms of the agreement, Bates will promote AbsAthletic's FIRE Wear performance Sportswear line during his public appearances.
Bates spent fifteen successful seasons in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. A member of the 1992, 1993 and 1995 Super Bowl Champion teams. One of the NFL’s true success stories, Bill overcame the odds his entire career, starting in 1983 when he made the team as a long shot free agent rookie. Bill immediately becomes a visible figure on the field with his ferocious special teams play. He was a very visible member of the Dallas nickel defense at the middle linebacker position. It was Bates’ notoriety that helped propel the NFL into adding a spot on the Pro-Bowl teams for specials teams’ coverage players. In 1984 he became the first NFC player so honored.
After retiring, Bates spent one year with the Jacksonville Jaguars as Special Teams Coach. Bates is now the assistant coach for Allen D. Nease Senior High School's football team, which won the 2005 Florida State Championship. Bates is also a well known motivational speaker.
