People want to know about me? I'm touched, I really am. People love me!!! Hehe. Anyway, I started playing music around 1st grade when my parents forced me to take piano lessons. I hated it. I managed to get out of them by middle school by concentrating more on school work and advanced classes. Nothing much came of the piano, and I can't play anymore. Around my freshman year of high school I started running
sound for my church's Sunday morning praise band, and did that for about
three years. My senior year of high school, the church's bass player went
off to college, leaving the band missing something. That's when I decided to
try to play the bass. My first guitar, a Peavey T-40 four string bass made
of solid wood, as well as my amp, was a present from Mom and Dad for my
eighteenth birthday. Within four months I was playing bass for my church's
praise band, leaving a significant vacancy at the soundboard. Since then,
I've been playing bass for various bands. The Aldersgate United Methodist
and Christ United Methodist Praise Bands were my first bands, but I had to
leave them when I went off to college. By that time, I was so addicted to
bass that I couldn't stop playing. Within two weeks of arriving at the
University of Central Florida (Go Knights!), I was playing bass for the
Campus Crusade for Christ praise band. Occasionally, on a trip home, I get
together with a friend, Dan, and jam a little. We've decided to call
ourselves The Miller Brothers Band and we've got one song. I joined up with Adam and Harry to form Mindflux
near the end of my first semester. Since joining Mindflux, I've
continued playing bass with Campus Crusade for Christ and have started
playing for the Wesley Fellowship, but Mindflux is the only place for
me to create songs and try new things on the bass. |
