The Entertainment Awards is where I give out awards to those who have thrived on success day in and day out. I will not bother with worsts because I don't have the will to give out worst announcements and adding on, they'll just make me feel bad. There will be cases in which I have never experienced the joy I listed. In other words, in 2003, I listed Kid as my company of the year, but I never did play any of their 2003 games. Anyway, the awards will be divided by each year. Since the site came out in 2002, I'll start with 2002.
Manga categories are hard to work with. Why? Simple. I don't have the resources to know which manga came out in what year. Moon Phase tells you when certain anime series come out, but are there any sites out there that help me on the manga side? Not as far as I know.
There are two types of awards: the Golden Mickey Award and the Kazama Shin/Kurisutaru Eien Awards. If you don't know by now, "Area 88" played a big role in this naming decision. I was going to actually name the latter award after Shiozawa Kaneto-san, but there are two reasons I wanted to use one of his characters instead of him: the fact that this is in a way, a fantasy awards gig and the fact that naming an award after a great guy that passed away has already been done with the Oscars. Due to the fact that the name "Oscar" has been taken and that The Anime Cafe already has a Crystal Kyouko, I decided to play with various matters and I ended up with these two names. It makes sense for the Golden Mickey to be created because you expect Mickey to be the best in every matter and you know that Mickey wants to live the good life, which gives you the Golden Mickey. The Kurisutaru Eien Award, the award that has an alternative name belonging to the hero of "Area 88", is an award for people that have done so much to the fans of entertainment and unlike his American partner, Shin has that calm and humble personality, wanting to see the clear skies and Ryouko, which is why you have this crystal award. Even companies can receive this wonderful award as well as fictional characters.
Yeah, it's not complete, but oh well. It's good enough. If you want more categories to be added, ask me.
2004 - Coming soon.
