If last year was the year of "Love Hina", this year was the year of "Sutepri". "Sutepri" was the best anime and it barely became the best form of entertainment of the year; these are only a couple of accomplishments of the series itself. Adding on, this series helped Orikasa Fumiko-san to win the Best Individual Award. Despite the honors of "Tales of Symphonia" and "Disgaea", KID actually was the best game company of the year, which shouldn't surprise some people in Japan. Namco could have been the first entry ever to win in back to back years. Not only did Miyazaki-san and the rest of Studio Ghibli win an Academy Award for "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi" ("Spirited Away") this year, but he is also this year's recipient of the Kurisutaru Eien Award along with the rest of the crew.
