"'Disgaea' Release"

For those wondering when will "Makai Senki Disgaea"/"Disgaea: Hour of Darkness" be out, Atlus has stated that it will be out on September.

Here's to hoping that it will include the Japanese voices.

"More Atlus Releases"

Atlus has released shots of "River City Ransom EX" and "Double Dragon Advance" back on the 25th.

Source(s): Momotato Daioh

Ho hum. Nothing special here.

"Page of New 'Galaxy Angel' Game"

The page of the new "Galaxy Angel" game is up.

Source(s): Momotato Daioh and Moon Phase

Even though I haven't seen this series yet, why are the anime's designs not being used here?

"'Eternal Fighter Zero: Bad Moon Edition'"

There’s going to be another big update/expansion for "Eternal Fighter Zero" called "Bad Moon Edition". The release date has yet to be determined. The new version has new bright trimmings like new life/super bars, a new super flash, a new hit effect, new sprites, new animation and new moves. It is unknown if there will be new characters this time around.

Source(s): Twillight Frontier and Insert Credit

Whoo! I certainly can't wait for this! Forget "SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos"! Forget "Samurai Spirits Zero"! Forget "Capcom Fighting All-Stars"! This is my fighter of the year!

"'Missing Parts 3'"

"Missing Parts III" is FOG's last game for the Dreamcast, and it is out today. The detective visual novel has a movie up on their site. Looking at the cinema, it's quite obvious that this series gets by entirely on its story. Regardless, here's what FOG (Full On Games) had to say about the DC (with Brandon's rough translation): "It's been two years since the production of Dreamcast software was stopped. Thus, this will be our last software for the system as well. We hope that this will be a fitting 'farewell' from us. Thanks for your support, DC users."

Source(s): Insert Credit

"Djin Fighting Games Bits"

Falconics has a new fighting game called "Artemis Blade" and it has characters from "Kanon", "Air" and "Tsukihime". No demo version is available for download yet, but there is a video of the beta. The trial edition will be 200 once it's out.

"Queen Busters" from Triplus is pretty much like "Super Smash Brothers". It has characters from "Tsukihime" and "Ragnarok Online". There's four player support.

Source(s): Insert Credit

I am sure "AB" needs more polishing. After all, it's still a beta version of the game. As for "QB", why does it have to be like "Smash Brothers"? Ugh! Why couldn't it be like "Power Stone", minus the stones? I would have wanted that instead because I want a health bar, not a percentage scale! I had thoughts about playing it, but those thoughts are dying down now.

"GP's 'Azumanga Dai' Game"

An "Azumanga" game for the GP? You better believe it. It's a simple game of dodging cats, but the "Azumanga" subject matter will make it worth the look for many.

Source(s): Insert Credit, GP Zigi and GP 32 News

Well, it's nice that the GP 32 will get an "Azumanga" game, but man! It's on a Korean system! That means the game will be hard to get!

"'Metal Slug Advance' Info"

Famitsu has released some info and a shot of "Metal Slug Advance". The game will have cards you can collect throughout called "Metal Slug" Cards, that will change your character's status and there are 100 cards total. There will be different paths within the stages like past games, and there are two selectable characters who are both new to the series: Walter and Taira.

Source(s): Momotato Daioh and Famitsu

According to the sources, the rmanji of the latter soldier I mentioned is Taira. There are a few possibilities for what the English name will really be. There's Taira (which is an alternate name of Tara) and Tyra. You may think that it could be Tyler also, but one, this Taira is a girl and two, you have to extend the "ra" to get Tyler. The game looks good by the way.

"'ESP Galuda'"

Cave has opened their page of "ESP Galuda".

"PSP Specs"

Sony has released the specs for the PSP.

I like what I see here.

"Studio Ghibli Hiring"

Studio Ghibli is hiring for 2004 in the sections of animation, background art and finishing (digital painting). You should be 18 to 25 years old. "'Ikki Tsen'"

"Ikki Tsen" will start later today in Japan.

Looks like I will be watching another Yui-sama anime this fall.

"New 'Guilty Gear' Game"

A new "GG" title is scheduled for release on Sammy's new Atomixwave hardware according to this month's release of Arcadia magazine. There is no news if it's 2D or 3D. It'll be featured in the next Jamma show, but more should be revealed since there's a beta test scheduled to take place next month. Apparently, it uses a network system and a card. It might be a multi-player game.

Source(s): The Madman's Cafe

"More Info on 'Samurai Spirits Zero'"

While this month's Arcadia was also supposed to have info on "Samurai Spirits Zero", it reveals less than what's been reported online from the beta test. One interesting point however has been revealed in the magazine: "Rurni Kenshin" artist Watsuki Nobuhiro did the character designs for three of the new characters. One is Nobutora. The game is scheduled to operate on October in Japan.

"'Tales of Symphonia' Trailer"

There's a trailer up on Video Game Trailers. Special thanks go to Hellsing and Rid for mentioning this.

Source(s): The Madman's Cafe and Game Arts

As much as I don't want to kill the cute evil black magician girl, you have to kill her. Otherwise, you won't finish the game. I didn't want to kill that winged boss or those magician girls in "Seiken Densetsu III", but I had to do what I had to do.

"Update on 'Gundam Seed 2'"

It was mentioned a few days back that there will be a "Gundam Seed II" on October. Well, the month's right, but it will be on October of next year.

Source(s): Anime Nation

"'G' Final"

The official page of Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi G states that the finale will be on the 21st of December.

"'Samurai Spirits Zero' Character List and Such"

Majority of the thanks goes to Chupiler.

First off, the old characters are everyone from the fourth 2-D 'Samurai Spirits' game except for Amakusa and Zankur. Second, the rasetsu characters are Rera, Rasetsumaru, Suija and Enja who happen to be the rasetsu versions (bust for those who don't know) of Nakoruru, Hamaru, Sogetsu and Kazuki. Third, the four new characters are as follows:

Tokugawa Yoshitora

He has 3 or 4 swords on his back and his Buki-Hakai (his super attack) finishes with the crest of the Tokugawa family. He seems to be a hot blooded character.

Kusareged (It roughly means dirty bastard and yes, that's his name.)

He seems to be a rather large character.

Majikina Mina

An archer and the fourth shadow image of the character list on the official web site, from the names of the moves, she seems to be a Ryky warrior.

Unhi

He uses a Chinese sword. Perhaps he's related to Wan-Fu.

The layout is this: A - Weak slash, B - Medium slash, A+B - Hard slash, C - Kick, D - Movement. With the movement button, you can roll, and such. As far as I know, guard pushes and pulls (press hard slash up close in the third and fourth games) are still here.

Most of the sprites are reused. As far as I know, there are no signs of boss pictures anywhere. Not having the chance to see many pics, the backgrounds should have the same Samurai Spirits flavor. There's still no word on the music.

Personal comments: A "SS" game without "Silent Hill" does not feel like a "SS" game. Of course, I forgave the second game for being the best of the past four games and the third one sort of for bringing in Rimururu. I'll get to the forgiving part a bit later if this game doesn't have the song.

I am still upset that the 3 slash, 1 kick format is here and it has been altered this time around. Though the shura/rasetsu format added life value, I wasn't much of a fan of it. That's why I don't like the fact there are character remixes. While it's nice to see the sprites again, it has been 7 years since "Amakusa Krin" came out and I sometimes wonder if there could have been changes for the most part.

The roll seems spiffy. However, I was used to the down X 2 format to lie down. Oh well. I still hate the guard pushes and pulls though.

If Mina turns out to be a fun character (and I know she will be), then all is forgiven, I think. I will pick her first. That's for sure.

"New 'SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos' Stuff?"

Fake or real? According to the Professor, they're true. Go to the thread for more info.

Yes, I still am unsure of the pics. My heart wants them to be true, but my mind questions them. Maybe someone can get rid of my doubts.

"'Sentimental Graffiti' Delays"

The release dates for the "Sentimental Graffiti" games for the DC have been delayed. Expect "Sentimental Graffiti - Promise" to be released in December, rather than September, and "Sentimental Graffiti - Reunion" not to be available until January of next year.

"'Naru Taru' DVD"

The official page of "Naru Taru" has updated with news that volume 1 of the DVD release, which will occur on the 25th of September, will contain just the one episode, but it will come with a special disc containing a previously unbroadcast clip of Sanada Asami (Shiina), Noto Mamiko (Akira) and Nogawa Sakura (Hiroko) from the "Naru Taru" event at the 2003 Tokyo International Anime Fair. Volume 2 and onwards will be released on the 25th day of following months (with volume 2 having at least two episodes).

"'Samurai Spirits Zero' Shadows"

"Samurai Spirits Zero's" page has a fourth shadow up in the fighters section.

My guesses for the shadows are, in order, Hamaru, Nakoruru, Uky and Shiki-san. I'm sure about Nakoruru though.

Source(s): Insert Credit

It's spiffy to see a fan made game have its own OST production and the movie was nice, but for some reason, I still am having trouble running the game. If anyone knows how to make this work, contact me.

"'Twinkle Star Sprites' Djin"

Xeno Fighters EX: Space-Time Continuum has a demo called "Macky & Pentell" based on the two kawaii girls in "Twinkle Star Sprites". Go to their section called "More Homebrew Shmups" and you'll see it there. Special thanks goes to Holiday.

My highest score right now is 64,954,520.

"2 'Ragnarok Online' Animated Series"

Digital Chosun reports that Gravity, a Japanese-South Korean consortium of companies, will invest 10 thousand million won to produce two anime versions of the online game "Ragnarok Online". The adult version (as in the version aimed towards older people, not a naughty version) will be 13 episodes long and it will be on TV Tokyo this October. The children's version will be a 52-episode series. "Ragnarok Online", the game, claims 10 million members across six countries including Japan, South Korea and China.

I sense "Ragnarok" fan subs in the future alright.

From what I remember, not one big company has developed games for this system. The company is hoping that it will be released on early October in Korea and before Christmas in America. Yes, it's nice that it has hopes of coming to America and as much as I want it to do well here, plenty of questions have to stay in my mind.

"When's the last time a Korean system made it to America, if it has been done before?" "What are some big games that I will see?" "Which big name companies will bring games out to this system?" (That, we still don't know the answer yet.) "Why would I get this over the Game Park?" "Why do I get the feeling that it won't do well here?" (Oh yeah. The vast majority of Americans won't try a Korean system.)

"'SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos' Japan and U.S. Release Dates"

SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos will come out on the 22nd in the U.S. and originally, it was supposed to be released on the 17th in Japan, but it got pushed back to the 24th. You can also get first impressions from Cain Highwind.

Source(s): SNK-Capcom Dot Com

There's a scenario you don't see that much. The U.S. gets a major Japan game like this earlier than Japan. Expect me to try the game in several days. I'll probably be in Sunnyvale on Tuesday or right around that time with a let down look (because of the game itself). If you're planning to be there, look for a guy with a black Jansport bag and with a keychain of Sakura of "Sakura Taisen". That would be me.
