Images Of A Marching Band
Page Two
The following are even MORE pictures from my experiances in marching band!
Note- Again, the music you are listening to or will be listening to is clips from our 2000-2001 marching show "Salute To The Man Of Mystery".
STOP! Joel doesn't seem to want to let Chelsea through. Hummm...Wonder what she'll do...Just another 'normal' day in band class.
Meet part of the brass section in our band! Even though they're usually hitn' the low notes, we wouldn't be a band without'em. They are the backbone (sometimes they're the only ones with any clue as to what is going on). :)
Drum Majors, Karri and Justin, saluting the judges at MSBOA 2001.(Note: The box on the side-lines is known as the box of doom. Marysville makes the drum majors of all the competing bands direct standing on this. From what Karri's told me, it is not a great thing to do- the box is wobbly and unstable. She thinks Marysville is trying to kill them. Who knows?) lol!
This is me and some of my friends after the 2002 Spring Concert. From left to right we have: Grace, Angie, June, Ariel, and little ol' me.
This is me on the back porch of my house right before the 2002 Memorial Day Parade. Yeah, that little ball of fuzz in the right corner is my dog.
Oh this is gonna be a fun one to explain... Okay, this is at the 2002 Senior Recognition Dance. Our Band Director, Trudy, was talking some about each one of her seniors at this point in the dance. The girl in the chair is Becky, a member of our colorguard, and while she is not a senior, she is very special. Becky was one of the colorguard members that helped out during pep-games by joining the percussion section. Now, Becky came to be obessed with one neat toy the percussionists have- a clicker thingy... I still need to find out the real name for the thing. Any ways, you crank it, it makes a cranking/clicking sound and Becky was highly amused by this. It was so bad that Trudy actually bought Becky one of her own! So this is a picture of Becky being presented with her new toy.
Trudy is trying to talk about one of her seniors, Kara (the one sitting in the chair), but someone keeps on interrupting her... Both Trudy and Kara are looking toward the source of the cat-calls as Trudy tries to talk. Good-natured teasing is common place in the band. We love to give each other a hard time because we are such close friends. Kara was always the first to start crying when people brought up graduation so the teasing she is getting in this picture has to do with that. I've dubbed this picture, "Comments From The Peanut Gallery".
