Marie Nemec

Marie is 56 years old, married for 31 years to Ron. They have two sons, Kevin (29) and Justin (25). Raising money for a cause is not new to the Nemecs. In September 1998 and 1999, their family climbed “America’s Mountain,” Pikes Peak, as a fundraiser for the Brain Injury Association of Colorado. Marie has been riding “seriously” for two years. In 1999, she completed a perimeter bicycle ride around the island of Oahu, in Hawaii, of approximately 150 miles. Bike For The Cure 2000 will be Marie’s second ride across America.

Scott Springer

Scott is 23 years old, and an Ohio native. In high school, he played soccer and ran track. He attended college for awhile, and worked in an electronic store. He felt the tug of God on his life, to minister to high school kids. He became involved in Young Life, a Christian outreach ministry to teens. Besides ministry, Scott’s newest passion is flying, and he hopes to enroll in an aeronautical university when funds are available.
