The direction opposite to the path of the sun in the sky. Anti- clockwise movements are used for performing darker spells. This movement is anti-clockwise and used for darker spells because it goes against the natural way of doing things. Reciting chants backwards, walking in anti-clockwise around a circle, etc. is Widdershins.
