The first picture looks back downstream towards Castle Street bridge with the railway station on the left behind the tree cover.

On the other side side, looking upstream is Broadwater lock.


Beyond the lock, in the picture below, it is hard to realise that behind the trees on the left is a major supermarket and that the town High Street is barely three hundred yards further on.


Fifty feet ahead is the canal. Immediately behind the photographer is a supermarket and the town centre. This is Berkhamsted!
