David Wayne Force will be remembered for his deep love and caring for his family, his indomitable wit and humor, his expertise as a book collector, and the unique way in which he saw gold in those he loved. Dave's enthusiasm and intricate plans for hunting, being Santa and selecting presents for his nieces, nephews and family, also his grandiose schemes for his pet project, the family tree and vegetable garden will all be sorely missed.
"I hardly know what to say. I am stunned by all this and the sense of loss I feel is unmitigated. Dave was impetuous, opinionated, brilliant, kind, and funny. We did not always agree but we always listened carefully to each other and found a gentle way to keep on talking...I just hope Dame Agatha is ready for a few intense conversations about Cards on the Table." --Rob

"I too have been really saddened by the news about Dave. For those of you who don't know he was a very active participant on [agathachristie] up until about 2-3 months ago. His posts were sometimes controversial but they were never less than entertaining. His posts about Agatha Christie were usually full of insights and showed a deep understanding and respect for her work. What that man didn't know about Agatha Christie wasn't worth knowing!
He was particularly good at getting discussions going and thinking up new ways of looking at AC's work. Each month he would always adopt a persona from the monthly read. I remember Lord Caterham (Secret of Chimneys), Mr Ratchett (Murder on the Orient Express), Julian Harmon (A Murder is Announced), Fakir Carmichael (They Came to Baghdad), Dr Shepherd (The Murder of Roger Ackroyd), amongst many others. I, for one, will really miss him." --Julie
"Dave was, and still is actually, the owner of agatha_agape. Dave started the list in March of last year, with a lot of technical help from Sha. He was the life and breath of the list. He kept us interested, amused--and in line! Dave believed that this was not his list, but the members' list. He was quite a guy as you have probably already figured out from the recent mentions of him on the list." --Dagny
