The Purpose Of This List

This list is for fans of Agatha Christie to come together, read her books, and share their thoughts about them. Other things we do include picking on each other mercilessly while hiding behind the guise of characters from the book of the month and quibbling over trivia quizzes...



The Name Of This List
The word "agape" means "love feast" or to have "...the mouth wide open, as in wonder." (Random House Webster's College Dictionary)



This List's Focus
Each month two Agatha Christie's books will be up for open discussion (one will start on the 10th of the month and and other will start on the 25th of the month) and they will be used as the main focal point of discussion. Each book is selected through a member voting poll, which is set up two months ahead and every third poll will involve Agatha Christie book choices that are not mystery novels, such as her adapted plays, her autobiography, her romance novels, etc.

Overall, the goal is to get everyone to read the book as of the discussion date. However, this probably isn't going to the case for everyone since there will probably be members who fall behind in their reading, have just joined the group, or not gotten the book yet.



Our Welcome Message
Welcome to agatha_agape, a group for discussions about Agatha Christie and her murder mysteries. It doesn't matter if you've only read one of her books or have been reading her for a lifetime - all are welcome.

We encourage you to take an active part in our discussions. But, before you put fingers to keyboard, please spare the time to read (and observe) our list guidelines.

Don't be put off by the thought of "rules and regulations" though. That's not the idea at all. Being a member of agatha_agape should, above all else, be FUN and the guidelines are meant to help everybody get the fullest enjoyment from the group. Thanks.
