Welcome to our Family's genealogy. I personally began looking into genealogy as a way of putting a book together for my children's eventual marriage. I was hoping to give them something that would mean much more than just a gift. Something they could always treasure, add to, and pass on for generations to come. I was originally only going to do my parents names and my husbands names. I thought that four family names would be plenty and easy enough. Not only has this not been an easy quest, but it still is not enough with what I do have. I guess that curiousity got the better of me. I've enjoyed the triumphs of finding some little something to add. Sometimes only a single name. I've also experienced the heartbreak of finding out that I'm wrong or hitting that all famous brick wall in the information circuits. Most of all, what I have experienced, is the great joy of meeting others like myself simply looking into the past. Many of us have turned out to be relatives wanting to know about ourselves or just about our grandfathers/grandmothers that we loved so much. Some of us have simply become internet friends that share what we can with one another.If you are on your own quest, don't ever give up. It's a long, hard journey like life is, but it all pays off eventually and will be worth more than all the gold in the world.
