Roman/Medieval Sled |
Roman or Medieval Sled style fire steel - called a sled style because it resembles the Alaskan dog sled. Based on originals found at archeological sites throughout the whole range of the 1st to 3rd century Roman Empire. Some variations of this style have been found at 5th century German castle ruins, and 14th century Persian collections. This fire steel measures 3" by 1 5/8" by 1/8th inch thick. For someone recreating the kit of a Roman Legionaire or someone from the early Middle Ages.
