Here is our staff...

BETH
PITTS
Editor in Chief
Beth Pitts is a junior English Literature major from Oklahoma City.
This is her second year as Editor in Chief of The Oracle and her third
year in the Student Publications Department. In the future, she wants
to work on a newspaper or magazine for a missions organization in
Israel.
Her favorite movie is "The Princess Bride" and her favorite ice cream
is mint chocolate chip. |
|
SHELDON
YODER
News Editor
Sheldon Yoder is a junior journalism major. He can
boast of being the first Amish editor the Oracle has employed, as
well the first one with a passable grasp of Pennsylvania German, the
language spoken by the Amish. So should he be stranded, alone, in
Amish territory, he could stop and ask for directions and some of
that good Amish home-cooking! Someday he hopes to find a wife, start
a large family, and farm a small plot of ground somewhere in the country,
far-removed from any hint of urban life.
His motto: "The pen is mightier than the sword." |
|
BECKY
CASTLE
Muse Editor
Becky Castle started her freshman year by writing regularly
for three sections of the Oracle. Not satisfied with this already-psychotic
level of involvement, she became the arts and entertainment editor
her second year at ORU and changed the name of the section to "Muse."
She is returning to the same position for this, her third and final
year. She is ecstatic about being a senior and graduating after only
three years. After graduation, she wants to be an editor, a missionary
and a wife (not necessarily in that order).
She is doing her senior paper on J.R.R. Tolkien's use of poetry in
"The Lord of the Rings," and if she could belong to any race in Middle-earth,
she would be a Hobbit because they get to eat all the time. |
|
JACQUI
MOORE
Perspectives Editor
Jacqui
Moore is a junior double majoring in Literary Writing and Business
Administration. For those of you who are wondering if those are two
completely unrelated majors, they are. She has lived in Butler, Pennsylvania
her entire life, and although she's seen an Amish person or two, she
isn't one herself. In addition to having a double major, she is the
Perspectives editor for the oracle and has a side job as a waitress
at the best restaurant in town, the Bourbon Street Cafe (feel free
to come in any time, but only if you plan on leaving a big tip).
Her future plans include New York City, a wedding ring, and a book
on the "New York Times Bestseller List." |
|
LINDSAY
GOODIER
Expressions Editor
Lindsay Goodier is a 19-year
old sophomore from Tulsa and Edmond, Oklahoma. Lindsay is a journalism
major, enjoying her first year as the Expressions editor. During her
freshman year, she was actively involved in writing for the Muse,
Sports and Expressions sections of the Oracle.
If Lindsay could be any cartoon character, she would be Hello Kitty.

Michael
Buchanan
Sports Editor
The newest addition to the
Oracle staff is Michael Buchanan. |
|
RUSS
MILLER
Photo Editor
Russ is a senior Organizational/Interpersonal
Communications major from Charleston, South Carolina. At an early
age, Russ realized that artwork produced by his own hands would never
resemble anything more than a stick figure. Therefore, photography
has become his choice for artistic expression.
He enjoys spending his free time with friends, coffee and guitars.

RONALD
HO
Graphics Editor
His full name is Ronald Julian
Ho MeiChun which means "beautiful and fast horse". He is
22 years old and is a sophomore earning a double major in Advertising
and Marketing. This is his first year as the Graphics Editor for the
Oracle.
Flip flops or shoes? Neither. Prefers to be barefooted.
Favorite place in the world and why? Hong Kong. Cheap and good for
shopping, eating, accommodation and all you can do without hurting
your wallet.
Favorite quote from himself: "Simplicity is difficult to attain but
once you have attained it, it is easy to maintain."

|
JONATHAN
FLEMING
Web Editor
Jonathan is a junior earning a double
major in mathematics and computer science. The funny thing is that
he is not very good at math! This is Jonathan's third year working
at the Oracle and Perihelion; the first two years he was the assistant
graphics editor.
Growing up in Idaho all of his life,
he enjoys such sports as snowboarding, skiing and rock climbing
along with all of the regular sports and camping.

CHERIE
GLASS
Advertising Coordinator
Cherie Glass, a junior, is a Public
Relations/Advertising major from Florida. (She has been known to talk
like she is from Minnesota, however.) This is her second year as advertising
coordinator for the paper.
She is recognized by her willingness to try new things and is lovingly
referred to by those who know her best as "Cherika." |
|
KAMELA
JONES
Student Publications Director
Kamela Jones has worked for ORU since 1998, and has
been the Director of Student Services Publications & Marketing since
2001. In addition to that job, she is also an adjunct instructor.
In addition to that job, she is also a graduate student (and will
graduate with a Master of Management degree in May). In addition to
that job, she is also on the worship team at her church. In addition
to that hobby, she also volunteers with community organizations, frequently
cooks meals for friends and family, reads books as her two cats lounge
nearby and watches "Trading Spaces" whenever possible (which is not
often enough, in her estimation). |
