Idea is: examples of solutions and a special type of thinking that may be useful. We just add when we come across one, ok?

One day two people were at a graveyard with a lot of black and white little stones.
They had to deal with a car. And you cannot divide a car into two parts.
One man picked two stones and he said: let us make an agreement, you may choose one in one hand and when it is a black stone you may have the car.
The man who might choose knew the other man and he knew he could not trust that chap.
But what to do?
After little thinking he said, 'agreed.'
And he chose a stone out of the left fist of the man, but he immediately let it fall on the place where there were numerous stones of black and white stones.
The chap said: 'let us do it again.'
'No,' answered the man, 'we need not do that, as you have one stone left in your right hand, I would have chosen the other color of that stone.'
The color of the stone in the chap's right hand appeared to be white, so the fallen stone must have been black.
The car was for the man while the chap was double disappointed as he put two white stones in his hands.
Our man was glad that he could have the car and drive it...

A graduate student of aircraft technology has to do a thesis project. He has to pick an interesting and hopefully original topic. Here are his lists:

fuselage pilot engines navigator propeller mechanic hydraulic fluid company president rudder passenger fuel stewardess fuel tanks ticket agent landing gear flight controller helicopters

Our student has a pair of dice, so he rolls for the first list and gets the fourth entry, "hydraulic fluid." He rolls again and gets "stewardess" from the second list. Putting them together, he starts thinking about "stewardess and hydraulic fluid." Soon he comes up with: "Stewardesses think airline food tastes like hydraulic fluid." Finally, he is ready to start researching his report: "Interviews with 50 Stewardesses, and Their Thoughts on Improving Airline Food Services."

'Expanding your mental capacity with creative thinking can improve with practice. For instance, lay six stick matches on the table and make four equal sided triangles out of them. After struggling fruitlessly in 2 dimensions, you soon learn that a 3-dimensional tetrahedron is the only way to accomplish the task.'

h3.

Answer to the question put here is: about 16 cm.
