1994

Neil Olivier and Scott Hagman were in a small local band called Stone Prophet. A young band that played at youth groups, and the occasional lock-in. After a year or so of going through several bass players, and fights during concerts and practices, the two left the band in search of something heavy. This was the beginning of -13. With only a drummer and a guitarist, Negative Thirteen didn't sound like much to everyone else, but to the two that had high hopes in the future, it sounded good to them. The Two made garage recordings, and did art work for the covers. The first was Hagman on drums, and Olivier on guitar. There were no lyrics or vocals on this demo.

On the second, "Death By Design Vol I", Olivier played guitars along with Sean Moore, and several drummers. The third, "Death By Design Vol II" was Hagman, and Olivier again, with one track by Moore and Olivier, and no percussion.

After doing only two concerts as Negative Thirteen Scott Hagman left the band, and went to the Army in 1996. Olivier went on to be in several local bands, but was never happy playing someone else's music.

1998

Olivier was finally fed up with the problems he had when playing in someone else's band. Thus, -13 was once again not only a name, but a band. After recruiting a new drummer, new bass player, and a lead singer, Olivier found his band going in a direction that he did not want to go in. An Alternative band. The name Negative Thirteen was always known around the small town of Hugoton as being a Heavy, Death Metal band. Deciding that he did not want -13 to end up being a fad like alternative music is, he saught out to find a new drummer and yet another bass player.

He came across Jose Martinez, and his brother Marcos Martinez. The two were used to the style that Olivier played on guitar, and fit like a glove.

1999

NEGATIVE THIRTEEN starts out the year with a bang, with its first show as the all new re-vamped -13, on New Years Eve, in Sublette KS.

Mid 1999

NEGATIVE THIRTEEN has an all new line-up. Jose and Marcos were dropped from the band, because to make music and be serious about it, you have to have your heart into the music. Dedication to something means giving your time, and life to it. Not just when you feel like it, or have time to.

The all new line-up includes:

Ivan Schnabel | Lead vocals

Darrin Bean | Drums

Neil Olivier | Guitars

Mike Murphy | Bass

Negative Thirteen has relocated to Hays KS. This move will help the nightmare be released to more victims.

Only being in Hays for a short time, -13 has a fan following that is unbelievable to the band. Hays has never seen anything like -13, and probably never will again. Doing shows in the North central and North eastern part of Kansas, Southern Nebraska, and Western Missouri, -13 is slowly spreading further and further out to reach more victims.

2000

Negative Thirteen has expanded once again, and replaced members in the band. The new nightmarish line-up includes:

Ivan Schnabel | Lead vocals

Erick Winebrenner | Drums

Neil Olivier | Guitars

Mike Murphey | Bass

Darrick Rietbrock | Backing Vocals

If you come to a -13 show, prepare yourself for fun, cum, beer, and blood. Kansas has never seen a show like -13's, and trust me, You haven't seen anything yet!!!

July 2000

We hate to see our blood stained dreams end this way, and maybe it isn't an end, maybe it will be the birth of a brand new monster. Some nightmares never really end. They just come back when you least expect it, in one form or another.

August 2000

And now, the nightmare is about to form a whole new face of evil. Friday, October 13th is approaching, and from that date forward, Negative Thirteen will never be the same.

October 13th, 2000

Negative Thirteen merges once again in the light, out of the shadows. Going back to its roots as a Death Metal band, Negative Thirteen's sounds is as driving as the will to make the whole world know about -13.

Mark Beamer | Lead vocals

Clint Wright | Drums

Neil Olivier | Guitars

Mike Murphey | Guitars

Joe Gates | Bass

Mid 2001

The two main members of -13 rejoined. Snake and Chainsaw met together and worked on new and old material, but never got serious enough to record it. Plans were to regroup and make the band something rather big in the Midwest again, but with personal problems getting in the way, this was never accomplished.

Mid 2004

Although -13 will probably never be a full band again, Id like for its memory to live on for a long time. I have plans on putting up old music, and old pics up.
