Things have changed somewhat
since I first started visiting the Books and Literature room
in Yahoo Chat (spring of `97 I think). I've met many wonderful
people there. But lately it seems many of them have moved on. Some have
managed to break the "chat habit" and are pursuing "real"
life. Others have decamped to "Gorpies". Life is always in a constant
state of change and life on the internet is no exception. To all my friends
whom I seldom see, I miss you. To my old friends who are as addicted
as I am and still come around on a regular basis HIGH FIVES!!!!! And to my new
friends, I hope we will have a chance to get to know each other better.
I've changed the layout of this page a bit. The first section is just a list of
all the people I've met with links to their websites (if I have them). The
second section is the what most people usually look for on the B&L dedication
pages, little personal anecdotes about the "chatters". This section is divided
into 3 parts. The first is dedicated to my old friends who I seldom see in
chat anymore. The second is to my long time friends who still share my
addiction :) and the third is for my new friends whom I hope to move to the
second part in a short time.

Section 2: Dedications, Milady
Part 1: Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
In no particular other than this was the way it came into my thoughts as I put this page together.
Ette was one of the first people I met in B&L. She is wonderful and very fun to be around. Her and Stwe have a relationship that is envied by many in B&L. We don't see them as often as we like anymore, but always enjoy their company when they do come in.
Rafedis was the first person to greet me in B&L. He has a great sense of humor and a love for Far Side that I share. We don't see Raf very often anymore either :(. Come back soon Raf, we miss you.
Shapechanger (another "first" lol) is a dear friend who I do not see online very often anymore. Shape, tell that hubby of yours you need to get online at home!!!!! LOL. As her name indicates Shape loves to morph into different creatures, so you never know when you may get mauled by a dragon, licked by a tiger or smothered by a boa. LOL. Shape loves giving hugs and we all enjoy her exuberance.
25sweet (aka Peppermint Tea) is my cybersister-in-law. That is, she was adopted as a sister by my husband (Boret). Sweet is now working on enlarging our family by getting married IRL in November. Her finance is a lucky man but I wonder if he knew how big a "family" he was really marrying into, lol.
Knight-writer is another of my "firsts" :). Knight has recently given up his flirtacious ways and has settled down. Knight's charming ways will be missed by many of the ladies. BTW, Knight is a writer IRL and has recently had a book published titled "The Encyclopedia of Entrepreneurs".
Birgette was one of the most helpful people I met in B&L. She helped me understand what all those acronyms being tossed about really meant. We don't see her very much anymore.
Infogoddess is another one of those who helped me understand some of the rules of chatting. She is definitely the goddess of information, and I have yet to ask her a question she hasn't been able to answer :).
Blue105 is a warm, caring and fun-luvin gal. She has a very bubbly personality that comes through with great clarity even through the medium of the internet.
Side-show-lily is another very lovely and fun lady. Unfortunately we don't see her very often anymore, unless of course she is sneaking in under a different name..... o O (hmmm).
Picapowergirl is another one we don't see very often anymore. Darn it Pica, where are you? Whose gonna take the all important notes if you're not around? It's not nice to shirk your responsibilities like that. Besides, we all miss you.

Once again, in no particular order, I am proud to introduce some of the "Gorpies"
Dragonfly-29 was another of the "firsts". She is an incredible sweet and fun person. We learned that we had a large number of things in common and have declared ourselves to be "cybertwins" lol. Watch out for Dragon, she will lavish hugs upon everyone and may "swirl you around the room, dancing" :).
Cinddee (aka Circe, aka Damn_Cindy) is my cyber sister. She has an extremely sharp wit and a delightful sense of humor. And of course, she is a "big flirt", LOL. Keep you eye on this one. And if she asks you to join in a game of Truth or Dare, be warned, you may be getting into more than you bargained for :). Whatever you do, don't take the dare. NO, NO, don't do it!!!!! LOL Don't say I didn't warn ya.
Arielaries was a wonderful person who was very full of life and laughter. She has left us now for a far better place where she'll never have to worry about poor modem speeds or getting booted. We will all miss her very much.
Musashi_miyamoto is one of my favorite Canadians and is also an absolutely gorgeous guy (I saw his pic! lol). Yes Musa you're cute and you know it!!!!!! Musa taught me how to give descriptive hugs. He has an extremely quick and sharp wit so stay on your toes.
Happyjoyousfreee and Kilroi are one of my favorite chat couples. Happy of course is the key to gorpies and is the reason why kilroi smiles so much :) and Kil is why Happy is so happy happy happy. lol. Though they do need to stop all the PDA stuff :). Just kidding. (NOTE: Happy is THE Gorpie!!!!!!!)
Jen-in-Dallas was Jen-in-Tex when I first met her. And once, she was Jen-in-HongKong, lol. Wherever Jen may be, she is always fun to have in B&L. Oh, and if you have a thing about French maids I understand Jen is B&L's (and now Gorpies) resident expert on the subject.
Ascarin is one of my favorite squids. He was once the B&L pin-up boy, but has now forsaken his "bad boy" ways and has committed himself to one woman - Merrika (see below). Asc has a great sense of humor and was one of the first people I ever knew with a "split personality". Since then I learned others were capable of being in "chat" under several names at the same time, a trick I have yet to learn. :)
Pablorue now goes by several different names one of which is MonKeySHoEs (I know I probably got all the wrong letters capitalized). He is quite mischievious and likes to pull little surprises on people so be warned, lol. I do miss the little moo-ster though. : (
Wcoyote is a genius, a supergenius (lol). Actual WC is a rascal and can be quite devious at times. When you go to B&L I suggest you do not go in the pool or the hot tub until you verify whether or not WC has um, er, well, um that WC has not, um, just make sure WC didn't do anything to the water, lol.
Part 3: Hugs, Huggles, and Wooden Horses
I have met so many people through yahoo. Okay, okay I confess, I haven't actually met any of these people yet IRL, but I have talked to a few of them via the telephone (that's the device you use to use to communicate with people over distances before you got your modem).
Peacerose is a lovely young lady who writes wonderful poetry. She is studying psychology right now and plans to help others understand why they are so screwed up. Perhaps Peace will find a way for us internet junkies to overcome our addictions.
Ethbay is someone I have gotten to know better recently. She has an incredible sense of humor and I really enjoy the DUIs she sends me (hehehe). She is another of the "Damn_Gang" and has a rather twisted mind when it comes to T or D. LOL.
Isnona is another very charming and funny lady. Hi ISSY!!!! Issy has a beautiful IRL name which she has graciously permitted me to use in a story I'm writing. Steve (Issy's fiance) is a luck man. J
Dulcinea for some reason every time you come into the room I feel like singing that song from Man of La Mancha. Gee I wonder why? LOL. Dulci is a treat to be around.
Nalesean and I became friends by accident I think, LOL. Funny how you just strike up conversations with people and just get along. Nales sends me the nicest emails.
Arklady is someone who you definitely want to have going to bat for you. Very funny, fiercely loyal and sometimes very silent, lol.
Lothario somehow became my adopted son. Had something to do with the pictures of "my den" posted here before. LOL He is a terrible kid, runs up my credit cards, takes my car without asking me, and stays out til all hours of the night. Sigh. Funny, now that I think about it, isn't he a little too old to be my son?
Merrika is someone whom I have seen in B&L off and on since almost the very beginning but we never talked much. I've gotten to know her a lot better recently in part due to T&D. She can be rather wicked. Mer is a very caring person with a great sense of humor.
Littlefuzzykit is a mischevious ball of fur. Despite the fact that I am not a cat lover, this character always gets a special hug from me. Kit is very funny, almost dangerously so. Do keep a close eye on her.
Macna is also a new friend, one whom I envy. Why envy you say? Have you seen her picture? Never mind, don't go see her picture. LOL. No wonder I don't want to put mine up. Mac is great to be around, and you just never know when she's gonna weave someone a kilt.
Madrone is another one I have seen often but have not become more close to until recently. You really must look at her page, different and enjoyable. I admire her ability to be so free and self-confident. Maybe if I hang around her long enough it will rub off on me.
Bloda is a very new friend and fast becoming a good one. A brave soul who risks the perils of truth or dare with the likes of the Damn_Gang, LOL. Although I must admit he does have a rather twisted sense of humor.
Jest-8 is another very special friend. He has the most delightful British accent and I'd love to invite him over for tea and crumpets.....as soon as I figure out what a crumpet is (and if I even spelt that right). Unfortunately Ethbay has dibs on Jest right now........ o O (That Damn_Beth!!!!). LOL.
This list is my no means complete, and if I have committed the serious offense of neglecting to include you, please be sure to bring it quite "forcefully" to my attention. I do tend to get a little absent-minded sometimes. :)
