Magic Spell-Ice
Description-Inflicts ice/water-elemental damage against the enemy.
Abilities-Ice, Ice2, Ice3
FIRE, FIRE 2, FIRE 3
Fire Weak fire-based damage against one opponent. Just a spark of fire surrounds one foe.
Fire 2 Medium fire-based damage against one opponent. A blast of a cloud of fire from the ground.
Fire 3 Strong fire-based damage against one opponent. A beam of light appears from the opponents' body and followed by a thermal explosion!
FACTS:
Good against cold/water-based monsters. Do not use it on fire-based monsters, as fire based monsters could nulifies fire or inflicit no damage. It is also pretty useless against BOSS such as the Ifrit.
ICE, ICE 2, ICE 3
Ice Weak cold-based damage against one opponent. A gathering of icicles at the opponents, followed by a fall.
Ice 2 Medium cold-based damage against one opponent. A huge icicle appears from the ground.
Ice 3 Strong cold-based damage against one opponent. A huge iceberg araises from the ground.
FACTS:
Good against fire-based monsters. Do not use it on cold-based monsters as cold based monsters as these could nulifies cold or inflicit no damage. Some FAQs called this spell as Blizzard 1 ~ 3.
BOLT, BOLT 2, BOLT 3
Bolt Weak lightning-based damage against one opponent. A strand of bolt appears from the surrounding.
Bolt 2 Medium lightning-based damage against one opponent. Three swift strands of lightning struck at one foe.
Bolt 3 Strong lightning-based damage against one opponent. A gigantic explosion and thus charging the foe with electric bolts.
FACTS:
Good against mechnical monsters. Use it to give them an electric shock! It does not work against lightning-based monsters such as Raijin. Some FAQs called these spells as Thunder 1 ~ 3. Lightning works well most of the time.
LIBRA [SENSE]
Libra Allows you to sense data and information on the targeted foe such as their attributes for strength [STR], intelligence [INT], dexrity [DEX], defense [DEF], spirit [SPI] and evasion [EVA]. It also gives information on it's weakness and vulunerability and a short description of the foe. A sonar appears from the character's body and thus focus on the monster with the words "TARGET". This followed by a detailed information on the stats of the targeted monster.
FACTS:
You will get the description during your first attempt to sense an opponent's data and weakness. However in the second attempt, you will NOT received the description and the sense will just automatically end by itself. Press X to exit from information screen during the first attempt. There are some FAQs that called it as Labeller.
CURE, CURE 2, CURE 3, REGEN
Cure Weak healing magic against one ally. A refreshing spin of blue light surrounds your character.
Cure 2 Medium healing magic against one ally. A refreshing circles of blue light started to enclose your character.
Cure 3 Strong healing magic against one ally. A beam of blue light appears from the character's body.
Regen Regenarate HP slowly at a time. White strands of energy curls and pink spots surrounds the lower portion of the character's body.
FACTS:
This magic allows you to restores lost HP. The more powerful the healing magic is, the more lost HP will be restored. Other FAQs or sites called these spells as Cure 1~3. This magic can be used to attack undead creatures, BOSS Utoku. This spell is gradually weakens on a person whom has Shield status. That's the side effect. Just change it...
ESUNA
Esuna Average curing magic against one ally. A blue beam of light appears from the ground and thus removing all status ailments [those negatives ones]
FACTS:
The magic allows you to cure status ailments such as Blind, Silent, etc. This is equivalent of the Remedy. Other sites called this spell as Esuna or Heal. This spell cannot be used when the character is being silenced. Sometimes Remedy or Chiryou command is much preferred over Cure.
LIFE, RAISE
Life Works like a Phoenix Down. Restores Life to one ally. Pink dots surrounds and followed by green light. About a small portion of HP is being recovered.
Raise Restores Life and refill the MAX HP to one ally. The screen darkens and followed by a couple of reviving feathers fall on the dead member.
FACTS:
Life restores one deadly ally and restore a portion of HP. Raise restores one deadly ally and restore fully of HP. Some of the sites called this as Raise 1 ~ 2. This spell works well against undead, result instant death! I have found the name of Raise in Final Fantasy Tactics.
REFLECT
Reflect This magic causes magic that is being cast on your party to be reflect onto your opponent. A green barrier made of green beams covers up your character.
FACTS:
This magic allows you to force magic spells to bounce back onto your foes. This magic is pretty useful. Do not cast healing magic on yourself or it will be bounced onto your opponents. I myself does not quite like this spell as it sometimes provide troublesome as certain spells can't be reflect and they are the damaging ones such as Tornado and Flare. Use Medicine to heal lost HP. SPELLS THAT CAN'T BE REFLECTED: Ultima, Aero, Flare, Holy, Meteor, Wind, Tornado, Water, Demi, Despell, and Quake.
BARRIER
Barrier Reduces physical damage. This spell also causes DEF status of a party member to increases. Averge physical defensive barrier on one ally. An imaginary barrier surrounds the character.
FACTS:
This magic allows you to reduce damage that are caused by physical damage. The magic is pretty useful against enemies that depends mostly on physical damage. Some FAQs or Site called it Protection. This magic works well as it could reduce damage done by physical attacks by half. Serves well as a layer of protection.
SHIELD
Barrier This spell applies to same purposes as the Magic Barrier in FF7. This spell reduces magic attacks by half. Magical defensive barrier for one ally. A pink coloured shield surrounds the character.
FACTS:
This spell is pretty effective against BOSS that solemnly depends on magic. For example, the final BOSS of Disc 1, Edea. Note that this gradually weakens all the healing spells [Heal 1 ~ 3] as it reduces "damage" done by magic. To avoid that make full use of Leviathan's Recovery ability and Potions.
DOUBLE, TRIPLE
Double Allows you to cast a Magic twice on one ally. Diamonds [pink] appears at four corners on the character and the word "DOUBLE" is seen.
Triple Allows you to cast a Magic triple on one ally. Diamonds [yellow-green] appears at the four corners of the character and the word "TRIPLE" is seen.
FACTS:
A very useful spell. Double allows you to cast a spell twice in a row. Think about the damage caused if you use Ultima. Triple is even much better as it will cause you to cast a spell thrice in a row. Think of the Area Heal in Brigandine! Sorry about the misleading information. I myself personally think that this spell is used to replaced the All Materia combo in FF7. But unfortunately, only a few monsters have them. It works better if you have acquired Triple Consumption or Double Consumption.
DEMI
Demi Reduces a foe's present HP to 3/4. A black cloud with blue strands gathers at the body of the opponent and thus "magnify" the image of the monster. Works well against high HP BOSSES.
FACTS:
Demi may does low damage due to different opponent's maximum HP capacity. But they can do tons of reducing a strong foe to weak one. Use it advisely. Some FAQs called it as Gravide or Gravity. This spell could also cause an headache too for BOSSES too as it simply does 9999 HP damage against high-HP foes!
WIND, TORNADO
Wind Average wind-based damage against one foe. A cloud of wind appears from the ground.
Tornado Powerful wind-based damage against all foes. A huge cloud of powerful wind attacks appear from the ground, raising your characters in mid-air and followed by a thud!
FACTS:
Wind is basically the killer weapon against flying, swooping creatures. Wind is pretty effective against most BOSS except for Fuujin in Disc 2. Tornado works well as it effects all opponents in the area. Wind is also called Aero in certain FAQs or Sites.
WATER
Water Average water-based damage against one foe. A bubble of water gathers at the opponent and force the opponent into mid-air and thus followed by as splash!
FACTS:
Water is basically a good elemental against Fire-based monsters. Cold/Water-based monsters receives no damage from this elemental. Water works well against most monsters in the desert.

FLIGHT
Flight Allows your character to float in mid-air with the aid of a pair of giant wings [like an Angel ^_^] Your character will float in mid-air, but will be back on the ground once you have selected a command.
FACTS:
This spell applies to temporarily usage same as Regen. The flight spell is used to protect your characters from Earth-based attacks! [Thanks to Ana C.J. Carvalho!]. There is another method. This spell is very destructive against earth-powered BOSSES such as the Brothers [this stop them from regenarating their HP, remember that they are earth-powered G.Fs!]. DESPELL
Despell Removes positive status [Regen, Aura, Haste and much more from the targeted character]. A blue-blue cloud appears and followed by a breaking sound.
FACTS:
Another effective spell against Iron Giants at the Warship Island. This removes the spells such as Regen, Aura, Haste, Reflect, Shield, Barrier and Flight. This spell works well if you are tired of your spells being reflected off.
METEOR
Meteor Very damaging magic, summons several meteors which affect all foes. Non-elemental damage to all foes. A black spot appears at the screen followed by a clashing series of meteor strike on all foes.
FACTS:
A great spell and a damaging one. It can does tons of damaging to all enemies [200+ with each strike and there are about 10+ of them]. Save for BOSSES fight for its high damaging attacks. Watch out for repeat vibration on your Analog controller!
ULTIMA
Ultima Obviously the most damaging magic in Final Fantasy Series. Does 9,000+ to all foes [provide you have strong magic strength stats.] The screen darkens and beams of light gathers together and followed by a green explosion of energy. Non-elemental attack against all foes.
FACTS:
A great spell for junction as it raises the highest stats among all spells. This spell works best and so stock up some for BOSS fights.
APOCALYPSE
Apocalypse This spell is a secret spell. Chunks of starring energy gathers together and followed by a blast at all foes and an explosion! [looks similar for Ultima].
FACTS:
A better spell, much better than Ultima. Effects all monsters within that battlefield. This spell is very damaging. I have obtained this through gameshark. Provides all elemental defense!
HOLY
Holy Another damaging spell. Great against undead. White bubbles gather together and thus forming a beam of white light at one foe!
FACTS:
Quite an useful spell as it does a fairly amount of damage. It is rather weak against BOSS such as the Omega Weapon. Holy does its most against undead.
FLARE
Flare Another destructive spell. Non-elemental damage to one foe. Beams of yellow-golden light appears followed by an explosion. Quite a damging spell.
FACTS:
This spell is very damaging and packs a punch. Stock up some for BOSS fights. Great against BOSSES.
QUAKE
Quake Earth-based elemental damage against all foes. The ground started to crack and followed by a repeating shaking of land.
FACTS:
Earth is pretty effective against all land-based monsters or foes. It does no damage or simply misses against flying-based monsters. Quake works well against crawler type such as the Haurizaado and Kedachiku.
AURA
Aura a new spell that has been newly introduced into the FF series. This spell raises the chance of using your characters' special techniques. Press Triangle repeatedly and you will a cursor pointing towards right next to the attack. Press Right and you will be able to use your special moves.
FACTS:
Aura is rather difficult to find. If you have accquired. Use it wisely as they will does tremedous damage to opponents. Refer to the "Special Moves" section for details. Make use of certain G.Fs menu abilities to create a handful of this! You can get this by drawing from Seifer or the borders of the Island closest to Hell or Heaven.
HASTE, SLOW, STOP
Haste Speeds up the time bar of the effected character for a temporarily period of time. A yellow icon with a handle appears and the ATB changes to pink.
Slow Slows up the time bar of the effected person for a temporarily period of time. A purple icon with a handle appears and the ATB changes to purple.
Stop Stops the time of the effected person for a short period of time. A Roman-lettering clock appears and causes the character to freeze.
FACTS:
Haste is one of the best spells in FF series. They could help in speeding up your time bar, which allows you to inflicit more damage in a short period of time. Slow on the other is a status disorder-based magic. It will slows down the time bar of the effected person. Stop could be extremely dangerous as the effective person would be frozen, could not attack nor defend. All the status can be removed by using the Remedy or Cure Magic.
BLIND
Blind This magic causes blindness on your opponent. This will decrease hit rate of your foe. This magic causes status disorder. A black cloud covers the character's head, reduces the rate of Accuracy.
FACTS:
This magic can counterattack with Cure magic, Eyedrop or the Remedy. This status also remains even after battles. Very damaging if the effected character has the strong strength stats.
SILENT
Silent This magic will generate a magic that forces an opponent to be unable to use magic. White strands appears and surrounds the character. Now you will see a speech bubbles with "..." appearing. Your character will be able to use ONLY the attack command.
FACTS:
This status disorder can be removed by using Cure magic, Echo Screen or the Remedy. This status will remains during battles. Cure magic applies to the unaffected character.
SLEEPEL
Sleepel This magic will causes your opponent to see stars and eventually fall into deep sleep. ZZZZ.. This will also causes the character's time bar to stop.
Facts:
This status disorder can only be removed by using the Cure magic and the Remedy. The status can immediately removed when the character is being attacked. The status disorder only last during the battle. A damaging status ailment as it makes the character most vulunrable. It is also a useful spell, as while your opponent is sleeping, summon your G.Fs!
CONFU
Confu One of the most deadly disorder magic in FF series. This magic will causes your character to one another. The magic will generate a huge bird [more like a chocobo to me] and the affected person will twirl in circles, attacking using the attack command only. Sometimes ended up attacking oneself, even your teammates.
Facts:
This status disorder can only be removed by using the Cure magic and the Remedy. This status disorder only last during the battles. The status ailment is far one of the most hazardous in FF series. The spell results your character in total chaos, like using Ice 2 on oneself, not necessary the attack command.
BIO
Bio a green gas generated around the opponent's head, thus removing small chunks in a turn. Green bubbles appear and thus forming a green cloud.
FACTS:
This status disorder can only be removed by using the Cure magic, Antidote and the Remedy. This magic is useless against mechnical beasts but very effective against human beings. The opponent will received damage from the intial attack followed by repeated attacks when the affected character reaches his/her turns. This status also lasted even after the battles.
BERSERK
Berserk a very dangerous status disorder. When cast on an ally, it will results the ally doing ONLY physical attacks. The effected opponent/ally will be burning red. The time bar also speeds up.
FACTS:
This status disorder can be removed by use the Cure Magic, Tranquilizer or the Remedy. This spells DOES NOT DO HARM! Instead, you will just loose control of the effected character and the character just keep on attacking [using attack command and unable to use magic]
ZOMBIE
Zombie The effect person will be greenish in colour and his/her time bar will move extremely slow. The character will instantly becomes an undead.
FACTS:
Sorry about the misleading information. The spell actually changes your character in a zombie. Just as I have use Recovery on Zell [which the spell has cast on him], Zell's HP instantly decrease to zero!] You can only counter this with Cure or Holy Water.
DEATH
Death This move always misses but with it hit, the opponent will be down to instant death. This summons a Devil from the ground.
FACTS:
One of the most deadly magic in FF8 which will result to instant death of enemy. To get most of these, draw from Tonberi at Sentora Ruins.
DRAIN
Drain This spell is rather rare and hard to get. This spell produces purple bubbles and a part of the monster's HP is being drain off!
FACTS:
Quite good if your characters are low on HP. This spell works well against HP monsters such as the monsters found the Island closest to Hell and Heaven.
MERTON
Merton It is just a white blast of energy which stretches the opponent. You can get this spell by drawing from Geira when Squall is at Level 100.
FACTS:
This spell not only inflicits high damage and it also gradually weakens the defensive stats of a defensive-monsters. Works well as your character could inflicit more damage [let's says if you can do only 3,000+ usually, not you inflicit more (about 3x more damage.)
PETRIFY
Petrify Grey mountain rocks appears from the ground and thus enclosing the monster. The monster will then freezes and resulting gaining no EXP, AP and item.
FACTS:
In fact, one of the best spells against tough bosses. The only weak point is that it has a crappy hit rate and it is rather hard to find. The character will instantly freezes and a block of white coating surrounds the character. The good point is that there is no chance of recovery unless you have Cure/Remedy/Chiryou. If all your characters are being petrified, it's gameover!
CURSE
Curse Red wind appears and circulates around the opponent and thus causing status ailments such as Poison, Blind, Silent and Confu.
FACTS:
I need more research regarding this spell. A brief description will be up during the next update. Some sites called it it Pein. This magic is rather deadly.
