Vehicles and Transportation
There are many forms of transportation in Final Fantasy VIII. Vehicles such as cars and trains take you to places conviently. Chocobos are also good for traveling. But the best and coolest (if you ask me) vehicle is the Ragnarok. It looks much better than Final Fantasy VII's Highwind.
 The Balamb Train Trains are used to move from city to city. It is a grey train with curvaceousness. Name: TEMPEST(TTS-II with turbo shaft engine) Length: 144 meters (6 cars) Width: 4.3 meters Height: 6.1 meters Maximum Speed: 260 Kilometers an hour Weight: 313 tons Capacity: 360 passengers 
 Ragnarok-The Super High Mobility Flying Ship Weight: 2,850 tons (without propellent, charge nor occupents) 3,134 tons (with one third propellent, full charge, and full occupents) 3,450 tons (with full propellent, full charge, and full occupents) Length: 108 meters Width: 77 meters Height: 54 meters (landing), 65 meters (flying) Occupents: A crew of 4. A navigator, a wireless operator, a cannoneer, and a cox. Adding to this, the ship is able to carry about ten more occupents. Weapon: 609 mm charged particle cannon 152 mm multibarreled laser x2 Maximum Speed: 11.8 km/s (The second cosmic velocity, which can launch a rocket into space). It's body is red and you can see the letters ESTHAR on it's body. Ragnarok was made more than 20 years ago, and it is still one of the strongest flying ships. It was reportedly made secretly in an unknown country. There are at least 2 other flying ships of the same kind with different markings.  A new addition to a Final Fantasy game is the Car, introduced to keep up with the modern image Final Fantasy 8 is trying to convey. Cars can be used to drive along roads, such as the Balamb City - Garden road which Squall uses alot. You can also drive them off-road. At this time, it is only known that you can rent cars, but in the later stages in the game you may be able to buy them. You rent them from shops which are located in the major cities, such as Balamb, and they are painted in different colours depending on the city of origin. In Balamb, the cars that you rent are red. There are many kinds of cars running here and there. Unlike trains, you can go everywhere you want by using a car. Generally, cars that appear in FF8 are rent-a-cars (It seems there are cars you get in a different way). When you go by car, you will encounter less enemies.  The traditional mascot of Final Fantasy is back in the 8th sequel. This time you can still use them for transportation on the world map, but how you obtain them is unknown.
