Sullivan University Coming to BLHS On Thursday, March 29, from 6-8 PM Sullivan University will be conducting a "Get to Know Us Night" at BLHS. This is the only program like this being held in eastern Kentucky. The highlight of the evening will be the awarding of two $500 scholarships. All grade level students and parents are invited to attend. Only Seniors are eligible for scholarships. Representatives from all departments at Sullivan will be on hand to answer questions and provide information. Sullivan University is considered a "career" university and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges. Students can earn an Associate, Bachelors, or Masters degree in a wide range of programs. Some of these programs include business, accounting, information technology, medical assisting, travel and tourism, paralegal, nanny program, and childcare management. BLHS and Sullivan University are in the process of finalizing articulation agreements so college credits can be earned from courses already completed in high school. BLHS & Spencerian College Sign Articulation Agreements On Monday, March 12, Betsy Layne High School & Spencerian College officially entered into an agreement to articulate three classes. This agreement allows students who want to attend Spencerian College to get College credit for classes taken during high school.The courses involved in the agreement are computers which articulates for computer fundamentals; Visual Art I which articulate for Drawing; and Algebra I and II which are articulates for College Algebra I. Taking advantage of this agreement will allow students to not only save money for tuition but to shorten their time they spend in college. Currently, Spencerian College offers degrees in Computer Graphic Design, Computer Repair, Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical CAD, and Architectural CAD. Also, we would like to commend the fans for their support and clean behavior the past couple of months.
