There is a simple answer to this question. It is FAITH.
To explain it very simply, let’s start with F.
F is for FORGIVENESS.
We cannot have eternal life and Heaven without God’s forgiveness.
“In Him (Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”
Ephesians 1:7a. NKJV.

A is for AVAILABLE
Forgiveness is available.
It is- AVAILABLE FOR ALL
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. NKJV.

BUT NOT AUTOMATIC
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of Heaven.”
Matthew 7:21a. NKJV.

I is for IMPOSSIBLE
It is impossible for God to allow sin into Heaven.
GOD IS
*LOVE (John 3:16,NKJV)
*JUST (“For judgment is without mercy.” James 2:13a,NKJV.)
*MAN IS SINFUL (“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23, NKJV.)

How can a sinful person enter heaven, where God allows no sin?

T is for TURN.
Turn means repent.
TURN from something-sin and self.
“But unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3b, NKJV.
TURN to someone; trust CHRIST only.
The Bible tells us that “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried and that He arose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1Corinthians 15:3b-4, NKJV.

“If confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9, NKJV.

H is for HEAVEN
Heaven is eternal life.
HERE
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10b, NKJV.
HEREAFTER
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:3, NKJV.

HOW?
How can a person have God’s forgiveness, heaven, and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Savior and Lord?

This is easily answered by FAITH again.
Forsaking
All
I
Trust
Him.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9.

“Dear Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that you arose from the grave. I now ask You to forgive me of my sins and to save my soul. Amen.”

Now that you have made this decision, do not be ashamed to tell others of your commitment to Christ. Jesus was not ashamed to die for us and you too can commit your life unashamedly.
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation of Him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38, NKJV.
“ Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father, who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33, NKJV.

Now, go and grow in Christ. I encourage you to search for a Bible believing church and enroll in a Sunday School class where you can study God’s word and learn more about your wonderful Savior, Jesus. He promises you abundant life more than you could ever imagine. That doesn’t mean hardships won’t come your way, but Christ will go before you, He will be with you always no matter what you face in life.

Read the Bible.
Pray.
Fellowship with other Christians.
