Story of Rebecca
This story is about my sister, when she was in her teens and going through a lot of changes during this time... parents divorcing, puberty, pier pressure and drug influence, among other things I'll mention later...
Rebecca got mixed up with the wrong crowd as a lot of teens do, and on one evening they went to the movies, innocent enough yes, but her friends talked her into taking LSD and she was fine at first.. they all left after the movie and went to someone's house to party the rest of the evening and as the night progressed things got worse, much worse...
She went into a seizure and no one knew what to do, they even put her in the tub to see if a cold shower would help not knowing this could only harm her as she was thrashing around... they could see by now they weren't helping her and she wasn't coming out of it... so out of fear of not wanting their parents or the law to find out what they were doing they decided to just drop her off some where in the cold and dark, out in the middle of no where in a ditch, left alone to die... and she would have if the conscience of one individual wasn't of some what good morals.. out of guilt one person called to tell her family approximately where to find her... and we did and just in time...
She was having continuous grandma seizures and was in a coma for a few days afterwards... Doctor's said she was very lucky to be alive and to not have extensive brain damage, she did end up with Epilepsy... she has some memory loss, she can't remember much of her childhood and once you've told her she still doesn't always remember... in the beginning she had to take 20 or 25 different medications to control her seizures and that wasn't even doing the job... She never really knew much of what was going on while taking these medications... it has taken over 15 years to find her the right medication to keep her seizures under control as much as possible.. she is now down to 1 or 2 medications daily and she does still have small seizures occasionally, but that can still change at anytime...
Of course this wasn't from the drugs alone, and as I said earlier she had other problems, which consisted of fainting spells or just blacking out, she found herself dealing with this problem alone... she had this from a very young age and my parents thought she was faking just for attention, not that she didn't get enough because she is the baby of the bunch... they didn't find out until this episode happened that it was present from the time when she had a fall from a chair at a young age causing a very hard blow to the head, this is where it started, but the Drugs brought the Epilepsy farther into progress, much farther than it could have been if she hadn't taken the Drugs...
Rebecca is doing much better these days and has a wonderful and understanding husband and two lovely children that love her very, very much...
May your Angel continue to watch over you always Sis...
