BAL VIKAS - MUSCAT
BAL VIKAS means Blossoming of the Child.
A small stick is planted next to a sapling, tied lightly by a string, so that the sapling grows straight and tall. A fully grown tree, once crooked,
can never be straightened.
Similarly, Bal Vikas, as propounded by Bhagawan Baba,
trains the children from the age of 5 to the age of 15. Complementing the school education,
emphasis is on imparting the 5 noble human values:
Sathya (Truth);
Dharma (Right Living);
Shanti (Peace);
Prema (Unconditional Love);
and Ahimsa (Non-Violence).
Thus, Bal Vikas has been also known as
Education in Human Values (E.H.V)
The Lord Sai knowing the fundamental problem that today's Educational System,
the World over, does not lay adequate emphasis on the very important aspect of inculcating the Noble Human Values,
decided to show by example, on a wider scale.
END OF EDUCATION IS CHARACTER
He set up exemplary Educational Institutions in India, where
along with excellence in skill related education, equal importance is given to inculcating the values
in the children. Result : Children with well-rounded personalities.
Today this has grown into the famous Sri Sathya Sai University, known for it's excellence in all areas of
education.
The Bal Vikas movement is now spreading into all countries in it's international form
