Alfandra is a land of many, many names. one of its names *is* in fact 'land of (too) many names'. all of the names tend to be creative and funny. but some are just totally, completely insane. and this is where i come in. *grin*

according to the faulty memories of Alfandra's old fruites, the mysterious Whispering Shade first mentioned the name. it was the only thing that could be figured out from all the scribbling on the 'welcome to Alfandra' sign. Greffindel the Plaid denies any parenthood to the name, but admits he did a lot to popularize it.

note the very strict rules for the use of this name. it must never be misspelt, capitalized or copied and pasted. it's a very holy name.

this name was the result of the merging of three names: the Dominance, Alfandra, and the Wang Toodle (of Dragons). finally a name everyone could be happy with! or - maybe not...

[pronounciation: not a problem after some practice, a couple of hours a day, a year or so.]

Marayong got some divine inspirations on the 9th of june 1999 and just typed the name. immediately afterwards it was recognized by several other dragons (including me) as a really neat name, and subjected to much the same rules as xgrmpflmprxyzzz - i.e. no mistakes, and no copying&pasting.

but since this is not the true, holy name of Alfandra, its use is not *that* strict.

first uttered on tuesday the 6th of july 1999 by Viriatha. it was supposed to be the really discordian way of saying 'hail eris', but quickly became hijacked as another name for Alfandra. Takenthra bears the responsibility for this, having desperately tried not to make it one.

well, Alfandra could certainly use a discordian name.

this name first appeared in Raymond's .sig (20 Aug 99), but was quickly spotted by DarkSide as a posebile new name for Alfandra. other dragons quickly supported the idea, and there was much rejoicing.
