In Small Town, USA, a travelling water show arrives bringing with it a world famous Holly-wood swimming star who will stop at nothing to protect her position and career. Her long time manager will also stop at nothing to win her hand in marriage! He finds a teenaged lifeguard at the local swimming pool who just happens to have had twelve years of tap (and ballet) and threatens to make her the new reigning Swimming Queen of filmdom unless wedding bells chime. Everyone is drawn into their machinations, including a boozy Hollywood radio gossip monger, the lifeguard's gawky but loyal boyfriend and her mother, who currently resides in a sanitarium and thinks she's...
