Karen's Dear Jane Row B
B-1 Batchelor Buttons Slight redraft by drawing lines from corner to corner creating four quadrants. I thought it might look interesting in an ombre print. Applique. 8 Pieces. |
B-2 Sweet Tater Pie Hand pieced. 16 Pieces. |
B-3 Mirror Image Hand Pieced. 8 Pieces. |
B-4 Chris's Soccer Field Totally paper pieced on one foundation. 21 Pieces. |
B-5 Hot Cross Buns Paper pieced and hand pieced, then reverse appliqued the triangles. 15 Pieces. |
B-6 Wild Goose Chase Paper pieced units, then hand pieced. 43 Pieces. |
B-7 World Series Appliqued inner curves of melons on top of berry fabric. Reverse appliqued the outer blue/grey fabric onto the melon/berry combo. Then reverse appliqued the outer diamonds by basting pieces of white fabric individually onto the blue/grey fabric first. That last step was not a good idea. Too much seam allowance underneath to deal with. Just applique the diamonds in white fabric on top of the blue/grey. 10 Pieces. |
B-8 Water Lily Hand piecing of the star shape and background fabric. Appliqued the melon shapes. Used two similar printed fabrics. 12 Pieces. |
B-9 Tinker Toy Paper foundation and hand pieced. Used two similar printed fabrics. 13 Pieces. |
B-10 Jud's Trophy Paper foundation and hand pieced. Again, two similar printed fabrics used. 29 Pieces. |
B-11 Melissa's Cross Redrafted to look like Jane's. Hand and paper-pieced. 21 Pieces. |
B-12 Starflower Reduced the original to 98% to keep the melon edges out of the seam allowance. Entirely hand pieced. 9 Pieces. |
B-13 Four Corner Press Did'nt think I could reproduce the same look that Jane had so I just made it simple. Hand and paper piecing. 9 Pieces. |
