Fire Apparatus - New Jersey

Welcome to Page 2 of the New Jersey pages. I am in the process of trying to add the text back to the images after everything on the Jersey page was lost about two weeks ago.

The gold lettering outlined in green really stands out on these super clean black trucks of Minotola Fire Company. Engine 1123 is a 1993 Pierce Lance with a 65' ladder. This is one of the newest pieces with this New Jersey fire company.

One of Minotola, NJ's oldest pieces is this 1971 Ford, Engine 1121.

I hate to be the one to clean this "super" tanker. Tankers are pretty common in farm country. Note the triple axles on this trailer. Its a 1981 GMC General tractor.

This is a first for me to see a fire truck or for that matter any truck, with fender skirts. This was popular styling on cars back in the 50's. This maroon truck is a 1978 Hahn and is in excellant condition. It belongs to the Mitchell Fire Company in Burlington, NJ. Young America and Mitchell have since merged into an unnamed fire company at the time of this writing. See Young America's huge ladder on page 3 of the New Jersey pages.

Painted in a powder blue, everything is blue except for the tires. Headliner, flooring, kick plates, dash you name it. This is Mizpaw (NJ) Fire Company's 1982 Mack pumper.

The newest piece with Mizpaw is this 2000 HME/Central States pumper. Note the name on the cab of the truck. Each truck is named and this one is the Blue Typhoon. Also note the interior glowing in blue. Now who said you can't see a fire truck unless it is red.

The Blue Beast is a 1994 4-Guys/HME tanker with a tandum rear axle. Very nice piece operated by the Mizpaw, NJ fire company down in South Jersey.

Mt. Laurel, NJ just received 5 E-Ones. The rear roll-up door has red Scotchlite chevrons applied since a lot of calls are on I-295 and the Jersey Turnpike. Engine 3611 is a 2001 E-One.

The Neptune Fire Company is one of 5 fire companies in Burlington, NJ. One of there pieces is this 1970 Ward LaFrance as seen here along the Delaware River in Burlington, NJ.

A very unusual piece belonging to Neptune Fire Company in Burlington, NJ is the 1967 Thibault. The apparatus is used for utility and lighting purposes.

Another of the Burlington, NJ fire companies is Niagara Fire Company located just off of US-301. Their 1996 Seagrave look very sharp and extra long.

A candidate for Code 3 is Niagara's 1950 Mack L-Model. It has a pumping capacity of 750 gpm which was pretty good in its day.

This is Paulsboro Fire Company's 1984 Mack that looks like it does not have very much water capacity. It sort of looks unusual compared to other trucks on this site.

One of the things I can not get over is all the different fire companies in a lot of the towns. Pitman, NJ is no exception. This is one of three of the fire companies in town. Pitman Fire Company No.1 has a yellow/cream color equipment as seen on this 1968 Hahn that was refurbed in 1990. The other fire companies in town have red or red/white equipment.

Engine 2816 is a 1990 American LaFrance 100' ladder. It is another of the trucks belonging to Pitman Fire Company No.1.

This 1997 Smeal/Spartan is the newest piece owned by Pitman Fire Company No.1 in Pitman, NJ.
