Isaac Hanson walked towards the kitchen sleepily the morning after Taylor's appearence on the Jerry Springer show. Dressed in only old Superman boxers, he yawned as he opened the refrigerator and got out some bread and butter. Just as he was about to close the door, someone walked in the room. It was Carmen. Isaac looked down at his ratty old boxers and was immediatly embarrassed. This girl already thought he was a moron as it was, he didn't want her to see him in his underwear from five years ago.
It was too late. She had already spotted him and was smirking in her nasty way.
"Nice jockies," she laughed.
"Jockies? Oh, that's what you call them- honestly, they're not mine! They're, uh, Taylor's!"
She ignored him and sat down at the kitchen table. Ike grabbed a shirt, pulled it on and went over to where she was sitting.
"So...what are you doing today?" asked Ike.
She gave him a disdainful look. "I don't know. Maybe go to the mall in town or something. There's not much to do in this smelly little town."
"Oh. Well, I could take you there, maybe, or something."
"Fine! If it makes you happy, you can take me to the mall." Carmen got up and stalked out of the room.
"I know she wants me," Ike said aloud. Just then Zac walked in the room.
"Who wants you?" asked Zac.
"Carmen."
"Oh, yeah, I can really see that. Reality check, Ike. She hates your guts. She hates all of us!"
"Oh yeah? Well, then why is she letting me drive her to the mall?"
"Because you have a car," Zac said smartly.
"She wants my body."
"Sure Ike."
Later that day Ike was driving along in his 1982 orange El Camino with Carmen in the passanger side. (In case you're wondering, El Camino's are those half-car/half-truck things.) She was looking quite embarrassed to be seen in this car and slumped down in the seat.
"You did not say this was what your car was," she said.
"What, you don't like it? This baby's a classic," Ike said.
"A classic piece of trash." They rode in silence the rest of the way until they reached the mall. Ike parked and started to get out of the car to follow Carmen into the mall.
"Um, what do you're doing?" she asked.
"Coming with you?"
"I don't think so. The deal was for you to drive me here, not come in with me," she said.
"How are you going to get home?"
"I don't know! I'll call a cab or something! Just go away!" Carmen yelled at him.
Ike ran to catch up with her and slowed down beside her.
"Are you stupid? I said get out of here!" She turned to him and shouted.
"What do you have against me?" Ike yelled back. "I'm just trying to be nice to you and all you do is yell at me and my family who's letting you stay with us, you ungrateful brat!"
She gaped at him for a minute, opened her mouth to say something and then closed it. She looked stunned at having someone yell at her like that. She turned around and looked away and started to walk away from Isaac, away from the mall.
"Hey! Where are you going? Hey!" he shouted after her. She broke into a run and ran towards the street, where car's were zipping by. She stood by the side of the road and watched the traffic go by. Isaac caught up to her once again and stopped next to her. "Look, I'm sorry..." he started to say, when she whipped around to face him. There were tears streaming down her face and her mascara was running down her cheeks. "Oh, gosh, um..." Ike didn't know what to say.
"Why are you following me?" she whispered.
"Because...I like you."
She turned away from him. "Why? Why do you like me?"
"Because...I just do." He reached out for her arm and she turned around. He got out a tissue and offered it to her and she wiped her eyes with it.
"Thanks."
"Yeah. Um," Ike nervously ran his hand through his hair. Suddenly Carmen stepped up to him and pulled him close to her. She put her hands on his face and kissed him on the lips quickly. She turned around and ran back to the El Camino.
Ike stood there stunned. "It must have been the car," he said out loud. "Or just my studly good looks and charming personality. I knew she wanted my body."
